2011 c63 vs 2012 c63
One of them has just 1000 km and asking $61900.00 Cad. However it does not have the AMG performance package. Another 2011 with the performance package and 5500 km is priced at $63800.00. According to the dealer they have the last 2012 c63 available in BC. It's pretty well fully optioned and they are asking $83105.00 Cad before sales tax but it comes with 1.4% financing for 60 months. If you include payment waiver for the first three month the effective rate drops to 0.68%. Is 2012 c63 that much better than 2011c63? Is it worth the price difference? Also is 30 hp difference noticeable for normal street driving?

Unfortunately in Brunei there are only a handful of C63s that are 2008 productions, most of with either accident or poor service track records that had made decided on biting the bullet to purchase a new vehicle. I'd hate to admit it but i was heart wrenching to sell off my R35 GTR and 2010 VW GTI but i had to be realistic. I'm happy with my sacrifice because I'm able to take family and friends out in the comfort of an estate, able to enjoy spirited driving when i have the urge, lug my diving / gym gear and most of all debt free from a cash purchase that will be an indefinite "sheer driving pleasure" everyday. - sorry for stealing the punch line BMW.

The US and Canada have awesome enthusiasts and tuning support that will be able to provide you with recommendations to meet your desire.

Let us know how you go and good luck.

Or, order a ’13 to your exact specifications utilizing a similar strategy.

To the OP... I think the changes in 2012 to the interior and the transmission are meaningful. The performance package, in Canada, also adds the LSD and upgraded brakes in addition to the extra power. The LSD is important, IMO, on this car given its power. If it is affordable, I would go 2012.

). I also think the lines flow better on 2012s but, again, very subjective and that is also largely because I like the look of a coupe.I'm not going to suggest the MCT tranny is more reliable (although there have been few reported issues) but it is absolutely a better transmission from a performance perspective. It is faster shifting and noticeably more responsive. There is no way to argue that. It may prove to be less reliable over time... we will have to see... but it is a higher performing transmission. If the MCT would not have been available, I would have had a really hard time going from the DCT in the M3 to the regular auto in pre-2012 cars. I found it very sluggish and it felt like a regular auto. The new MCT is not as good as a true dual clutch but is is much closer in responsiveness and feel. So, in this case, new is absolutely better IMO.
Again, the "improvements" for 2012 will have more or less value to each person and for some, they would choose to buy a used car to save the $$ and not care about the changes.

I've looked at several 2011's, but honestly, the interior between the '11s and the new '12s is night and day. The new interior is significantly better (IMHO), and the new MCT transmission is probably the one to get (if reliability is an issue, well, the warranty will cover that for 4 years / 80K).
The big debate that I'm personally having right now is whether to pull the trigger on the '12 C63 Coupe that I've been looking at. We don't need two gas-guzzling SUVs in our family (actually, my wife's X6 isn't that hard on gas...my RRS is, however), so I figure I'll 'downsize' one of the cars to a C63 Coupe. Still be hard on gas....but more fun to drive than the RRS.
Back on topic, one of the things that I'm hesitant about is the interior, and this is where the '12 has sold itself well. Range Rover has some of the best looking interiors in the business.....and it was noticeably nicer than the interior on the few 2011's I looked at.
While the '12 isn't quite up to the same spec as Range Rover (no leather dash, no heated steering wheel, HVAC controls aren't as nice, no fridge), it's definitely a good step forward from previous years.
And some of the features are infinitely better (bluetooth audio plus DVD video playback....and a better NAV system than the Range Rover version).
I'd definitely go for the 2012. Inside is where you spend your time....need it to be as enjoyable as ever.

So don't believe them if they tell you that they don't discount AMG and at least in Canada you should be able to get $5000.00 discount. So now I have a brand new C63 which happens to first time I haven't bought a car with manual transmision for my self. Downside is we now have 2 black Mercedes in the family. One more thing, I checked out M3 but in Canada a equivalent M3 is about $8000.00 more. So in that Car and Driver test of C63 vs M3, C63 would have won if they held the test in Canada.
