I also remember reading that if the problem doesn't happen by the time you reach about 30k-40k miles, you're probably in the clear. OP, only reached about 22k miles. Can anyone verify that statement? I asked my dealership about my engine # and they never acted like it was an issue. Now, they did not explicitly indicate that my engine wasn't on the list. I'll have to ask them again and be more forceful.

Good to know, thx...49k miles...is this the highest mileage yet of any C63 on this forum reporting the head bolt problem?

At the beginning of the sticky on this issue the range of engine number impacted. All service advisors I've spoken to say word for word "I've never heard of this problem". The techs of course will tell you otherwise, however their hands are tied (and most of them don't like being in that position as they take pride in their vehicles and their work). The party line is, if this happens under warranty we will fix it but we are not allowed to retrofit before a failure. As far as when they fail I've heard milage numbers all over the place, some with as little at 12k miles.

Yes I believe so. It affects all M156 motors produced until mid 2010 which is when they switched over to the new design.

Had mine looked up, I'm like right in the middle of the bad list. I've got 52k miles on my car now with no issues.

I got it back today, all seems fine for now. Feels amazing after driving that c300 loaner for 2 weeks

Im at just over 20k miles, looks like it happens randomly? Im unlucky i guess haha.
