Newbie question for 2013 C63

I'm a long-time BMW owner (550i) making the switch to a 2013 C63 AMG. Can anyone give me advice on whether or not to order the Development Package? I do not plan on ever taking the car on the track and the marginally-faster 0 to 60 time seems insignificant. (From my research, it looks like 0 to 60 is improved by about .1 second.)

Are there particular reasons why I should order this package? Or why I do not need to order it?

If the xtra hp is not important to u & u will not track the car ( like most of us lol).. Then no need to spend the xtra 10k$ for the Performance package in my opinion.

U can always paint ur calipers red & buy a CF trunk lip spoiler .. And will have plenty of $$ left if u want a tune down the road or some 2pcs rotors.

2012 Diamond White C63 Coupe
Save money from PP, invest in some springs, tune, etc.

(a)'12 C63 P/P, LSD, 19" m/spoke,comfort pack. (b)Astra SRI.
Question

I think a lot depends upon what the car means to you...is it going to be a keeper, or just your car for a few years, after which you'll get something else. The Development package is not just about an extra 22KW....if that's all it means to you, well it would be a waste of money, because you could easily get more than that with a tune for far less money.
We ordered our car with Development Package & LSD, & a few other little options.
In Aus, the "Development Package" includes the engine, which is not just an extra 22KW....it includes SLS Crankshaft, Rods & Pistons, bigger brakes, different steering wheel (which I don't like!), carbon rear spoiler & 19" multispoke wheels.
We would be unlikely to ever track our car, we drive it as hard as we're allowed, but I doubt whether I'd be able to pick the 22KW over the standard engine.
BUT, for us, this purchase was special, very special, a BIG financial outlay for us...we just wanted all the "performance" options....., which we think adds character to the car....makes it a bit more special. But that's us, hopefully we'll have this car for a long time, and we like the feeling that it's got some "special" bits under the bonnet.
Cheers, Pickles.

I completely agree, sir. I decided on the P31 knowing that I will never need tovoid my warranty on aftermarket tunes or performance upgrades. I plan on keeping the car as long as I and the car are alive. Plan on getting cf though.

P.S. 30hp/22kw is underrated. Dynos have proven it time and time again.

I've heard this and I'm trying to find confirmation. Based on your findings what is the true added HP of the P31? Any dyno links?

Average of 50 hp. No tq increase. On mobile device, hard to search for links. Use keywords p31 dyno mustang. ~370whp w/o p31 mustang and ~400+whp with.
Cheers.

PS Found my thread.

Get the P31 and have the piece of mind knowing your warranty is safe. You're going to spend more than the P31 cost in mods trying to achieve the P31's performance and kill your warranty eventually.

P31 is a no brainer if you don't plan on tuning, but want that extra oomph. Equivalent of a stage 1.

sat in a 2013 today, they repositioned the cruise control knob, and the steering telescoping mechanism knob. Also, a change i really wanna do to mine, is the software, there's a whole new theme for both the center screen and the one infront of the driver, looks really cool. other than that, same car
