Removing rear seats
While I was looking through some threads I noticed that some of you took out your rear seats before heading to the track. I know how to fold the seats down but I just can't figure out how to completely remove them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pull up on the front edge, then push it back towards the rear of the car. That will remove the bottom seat cushion in the rear, then it will expose screws to remove the side bolsters. The fold down seats are tricky but everything will be exposed once the bottom and sides are removed.

The pad you sit on just comes right off.
The rear back seat is what is heavy, about 65lbs Id say.
Its bolted to the car under a 2inch strip of leather that runs along the bottom and top pieces. I think there is about 8 or so bolts that have to be removed. One of them in the middle seat belt.
Its pretty straight forward. You will get lots of road noise and exhaust noise. Especially if you remove all the crap in the trunk too.
Easy to remove the passanger seat too! Its only 4 bolts and its comes right out after you disconnect the electronics on the bottom and remove the seat belt clip. Thats another good 65lbs! Beware u will get a SRS code from removing it and have to take it somewhere to get the code canceled.... I just drove around with the code, but the passenger airbags wont work...

I've pulled the side panels and seat cushion but I can't get the strip off between the backrest and lower seat. Is it just clipped or are there screws I'm not seeing?

I pulled pretty hard on it. They the split seats and there's a plastic tab with hooks. (Bad description) looks like a MB tool is required to unscrew it. I will post a quick pic when I get to my computer.

Doing a little dead thread bump here. For those that have pulled out the rear folding backs, how did you access the two bolts on the bracket in the middle of the seat which is behind the seat back and sort of tucked below the black plastic piece part of the trunk? The space is too tight for a socket and not enough room for my hand to get a box/spanner wrench on there. It’s a weird spot to get to even though I can see them clearly. Cheers.
