Thinking of selling my '11 C63

I'm thinking of selling my 2011 C63 with 5100 miles and wanted your feedback regarding price. I love the car but want to get back into a GTR.

My car is black/black, rear view camera, rear side airbags, heated seats, Keyless GO, AMG leather pkg, Lighting pkg, Multimedia pkg. MSRP was $71,370. Car has clear bra on hood and mirrors, windows tinted, Eurocharged tune, 10mm wheel spacers, X pipe and resonator delete, never tracked. Excellent condition - no paint or dings. Been offered $53k trade-in on a discounted 2013 GTR.

What's a fair sale price on my car? Anyone on this forum interested? Email me at H54913@yahoo.com for pics or more info.

53K is a decent trade value. Maybe 55K for private.

Do it. I did the same with my MY2010 with 5000 miles but only got 48.5k in trade-in and end up paying my 2013 BE at MSRP. Go to NAGTROC and you can find some good deals on them. Good luck.

How come you're going back to the GT-R? Speed? MPG? Handling?

Personally, I don't know if I would ever buy a GT-R.

I'd pull up next to another fast car and never have that feeling again of "can that other car beat me?"

I met a guy at the track a couple weeks ago and it was his first time. He had a 2009 GT-R and ran an 11.1 on his first try. The second time he got a 10.95. He didn't even know how to launch it. I don't remember if he had a tune or anything, but those cars are beasts!

GLWS or trade-in. I'm sure you'll love the 2013's. I heard they have an extra 15 hp over last year's model too.

Yeah, last time I had a C63 (2010) I traded it on a 2010 GTR. Then I came back to a C63 (2011) and now I want to go back to a GTR!!! Wish I could afford to have both!

I've got a good offer on a new 2013 GTR but thought I might be able to sell my C63 privately instead of trading it. I would prefer it to go to good home rather than the stealer.

I love the sound and quality of the C63 but I also love the quickness and awd of the GTR. It's a fast car stock and very tuneable. GTR dealer service where I live sucks though. I wish I could afford both!

Totally second that. The only reason I traded instead of selling was because it's my only ride and no one can drive me around car shopping.

BTW, you should totally register with this site to keep track of your old rides. I feel lonely as both my old C63 and GT-R are the only one of their kind in the site.

Not sure, but it will give you a map of the car locations based on the VIN. So as long as you remember or can find the VIN of your old car, then you can keep track of it later post-sale.

I had a choice on a Nissan GTR or a C63 coupe and after driving both went for the C63 lol. Just shows you it comes down to the individual. Now just waiting for the bloody thing to arrive.

C63's here in USA are mid $70k's USD dependng on options and they do depreciate quickly. The value of mine has dropped $20k in one year. How about in the UK? GT-R's seem to hold their value better. Very different cars and the MB is better quality in my opinion. GT-R is quicker and very easy to tune. I love them both and think they are both great cars.

PS. I'm originally from the UK.

C63 coupe and GTR

I think they hold there value very well on the saloon. I cant comment on the coupe, but they are very hard to get hold of over here. I still have 2 months before mine actually arrives at the dealer. I think if C63's cost the same in the UK as they do in the States you would see a lot more of them lol. But they are very rare where I live ( Durham ). You see a few older GT-R's where I live but not so many of the new 2012-2013 model. I guess that's because the price shot up by about 20k on the latest model. The car I was looking at 2 months ago was 89,000 pounds. The GTR is trully an epic car but I would never use that power where I live. I dont track cars either. The merc therefore is plenty quick for me. Mine is the PPP so its even a tad quicker they say than the one I tested. It came down to what I thought I could live with best. I'm also 34 now and thought the GTR was a bit full on for me lol. If I had the money I'd probably have both also :-) and a few others lol.

Congrats on the car. Post some pics. Funny on how people are different. I looked at a coupe and ended up going for the CLS63PP. The interior of the CLS with the tune potential was what won me over as well as the alanite matte grey.
Regarding the GT-R, it is mind boggling fast but it is blend when it comes to driving feedback and soundtrack. I was on the fence as well.
I am in my forties now and speed is becoming lower on the list. I actually drove overnight a Vantage S and the experience was epic other than the single clutch gearbox. That gearbox reminds me of my fist gen SMG E46 M3 in a bad way. I can't believe a top manufacturer would even dare come to market with such a bad transmission. It works well when you beat on it but daily driving is simply horrible.

I will post some pics of it. I’ve Had it 2 days now and in love with it. The CLS I was looking at was awesome; I just prefer 2 door coupes at the moment. If I had kids I would defo have got a CLS or an M5. As for the E46 M3 you are spot on. I love M3's and still have a E92 and Cab E46. The E46 SMG2 gear shifting is like being kicked in the teeth lol. The SMG2 stopped working when I first got mine as I stupidly never read the manuals about giving it time to warm up. I looked a right dick head when I stormed into the BMW garage saying BMW were rubbish as this new car had failed 5 times after having 2 weeks. Sales man let me rant for 10 mins then politely pointed out my failings. As for tuning I think I might get it remapped to 550 bhp as a guy at work who had his 2009 GTR done say the company who did his GTR also do Merc's. In fact specialize in Mercs. I'm not sure though as it's mighty fast for me already. God knows what the next C63 AMG will be like if it gets that turbo engine. I keep cars 2 years and it will probably be another M3 followed by a C63. I think that will be the case till I’m 40 ;-)

PS.
How many miles do you run a C63 in for. I was away when it got delivered and haven't had time to contact the dealer.

Regarding the break in period, there are 2 schools of philosophy and it really depends up to you. Some people say, drive it like you would normally do and feel free to beat up on it others do follow the schedule which I think is 1,500 miles.
I think some common sense of not driving the car like you stole it but not driving it like a snail either would work just fine.

It's never been out of Comfort mode yet and has 80 miles on the clock. I think I'll give it the full 1500 before I start seeing what it's really got. By that time I may have worked out how to pair my Samsung Galaxy S3 to command online internet services..lol. Nice speaking to you.
