electric cut out in the middle of a drive wtf! :(
so I was out enjoying some back roads today at night when all of a sudden for a second I felt pretty much all of my electrical systems shut off, including instrument cluster, navi, head lights and ambient lights. 
then for a split second after everything came back there was a message on the speedo infomation display saying that my parking brake was on (it wasnt) and all the warning lights came on and then went away.
Everything returned to normal but it scared the **** out of me because I was on a poorly lit twisty road!
Any ideas as to what could have happened?
Also recently, my car has sometimes refused to start when I press the keyless go button. I would press it and it wouldnt crank and all the electronics would turn off. I would have to go outside the car, lock it, unlock and then come back in and it would start. My SA told me it could just be the battery in the key (i havent changed in it 9 months of ownership) so I tried that. it hasnt done it again yet but do you guys think it could be related? (The drive situation happened before I changed out the battery)

Sounds like the battery was the culprit...unless you have something going on with wiring.

I've heard of that with the S-class under hard braking. There was a glitch that shut off everything if you broke too hard. I doubt it's the same thing, but if you've swapped the battery and it hasn't happened again...

no no the key fob battery. sorry i wasnt clear (i'm talking about two separate occasions. I'm asking if it could be related...sometimes my car wouldnt start when i press keyless go. I replaced the battery beause of this)

Your problems starting the car were likely due to a weak battery in the key.
Your other issue of the temporary loss of electrical power when driving does not seem like it would be related to the key, weak key battery or not. The car does not need the key to operate once the engine is running.

Sounds similar to what happens when there is water damage. Do you pressure clean the engine bay and perhaps get water into the central gateway ? which is located under the front fuse box.

Yeah, what's going on? There are tons more issues with the '12+ than prior years it seems. The fact that there are more threads here than on the Cadillac Forums about major issues and problems with owners' cars is very surprising, and disappointing for MB.

My family has had many MBZ over the years and all have been problem free, especially when they were this new...

Sorry to hear about your consistent problem natman... dont worry about it too much, your car is brand new, the dealer will bend over to make you happy & get you back on the road quickly.

I had a prob similar to this in my 08 c63
They had to change front SAM and everything worked fine after that.
My problem was all lights came on in the dash and windows won't roll up.
If the morning the car would be deal
Jump it and it was like nothing happened.

Hmm I'll take it into the dealership soon then. Also I noticed today that if I have my interior lights on in park ( like when the door is open) and I rev it, the light flickers.... Hopefully that message and the flickering light will help the dealer look at the right place

ok so just wanted to update this in case anyone got the same problem as me.
as of now my problem seems to be resolved (i've only had the car back for 24 hrs) but the dealer says there was a bunch of loose wiring near by battery to my main fuse box or something. i asked how could it have happened and he said he had no idea, could just be from the factory -__-
