Help choosing TINT!

Planning to do tint on my rear windows thinking either 20% or 5%

narrowed it down to 2 brands

1) 3M Color Stable 20%

or

2) Solar Guard Supreme 25%

Which brand to pick ???

Well it depends what color is your c63?
5 on the rears for sure and i would say 3m on the front.
If you really want to get a nice purple look then go a bit lighter on the fronts but add a 50% on the windshield. It also makes a big difference in keeping the cabin cool.

If you don't want the windshield to get darker but still want to be protected from the sun i recommend 3m crystalline infrared.

re

In in Canada and they dont allow tints in the front windows.

My vehicle is White. i can only do the back 3.

So im thinking to do either 20% or 5% on the 3 windows.

3M color stable
or Solar Guard supreme. Cant decide which brand, price is about even

I can't speak on solar guard but i had 3m on my ml63 and it was amazing.
If your worried about tinting it too dark possibly do 5% on the rear windshield and 20 on the rear windows

Lol well put! i got pulled over tonight clocked at 50 in a 25 and i got away with just window tint and no front plate ticket. All you have to do is take pictures of your car before you tint it with clear windows so you can show proof to the dmv or the court house that u removed the tint once/if you get stopped.

Not really. Unless you're trying to keep a lookout for the popo, then maybe. I just see headlights. I'm pretty good at distinguishing them, but it would be a little easier without a tint. Up to you though, I like having tinted windows.

H Have 5 on my s550 and i like it. If you are leaving your 2 front windows you shouldn't have any problems seeing the boys in your side mirrors. Right now I'm in the process of getting a optometrist note to give to the dmv allowing me to have medical window tint exemption

If the front and back was 5%, you may have trouble seeing pedestrians/ bikers at night.

If no tint on the front, then shouldn't be a problem. You can see headlights easily in back..

On a coupe I had 5% all around and most of the time was fine, but a few instances <10 (in 10 year period) had some close calls with pedestrians / bikers during stop and go turns.. Just my experience...

Don't tint just the 3 back windows. IMO, it looks retarded, especially if you go limo dark in the back.

Tint all the windows with 40%, which is pretty much the lightest tint. In the day, it looks like factory tint, at night, you won't be able to see inside from the outside. I'm in Calgary, same rules no tint on the front, never been hassled with 40% all around.

same with NY and they've been pulling people over just for tints.

I agree with the just the rear 3 windows...especially with limo black. Also, the color of your interior (exterior as well) makes a difference as how dark your tint appears. A dark interior will make your tint look darker...light interior...tint look lighter.

I'm picking up my car (iridium silver/black) tomorrow from the tint shop. Guy recommended I do 50% all around for both looks and reducing the risk of getting ticketed.

Try Huper Optiks or Solar Adaptive Window Tint (Like transition lens in glasses). Using both on seperate vehicles and love it.
