I have a KPH complete gauge cluster for sale.

You could plug it right in and sell the MPH one.

in theory if the increments are set correctly it should be fine ... seeing that often gauges show both KMPH and MPH.

The last position on the US cluster is 200 MPH and the last position on the import cluster is 320 kPh. That is close enough to get by, since 200 MPH is 322 kPh.

However, the mark at 12:00 on the US cluster is 80 MPH and on the import cluster it is 160 kPh. This is wrong, 80 MPH is 129 kPh.

You are going to need the entire cluster.

That's my point, the increments on the miles cluster become larger after 100 I think whereas the kilometers don't change, it's 10kmph increments

But the car sensor for the speed is still the same, so I believe the sensor need to be calibrated to the new skin.

Doesn't the new cluster would still be connected to the same speed sensor.

If the correct speed readings on both speedos are in different needle positions I think you could swap the speedo dial face and recalibrate the speedo. I have no experience in this area and I could be very wrong but it seems logical.

Or u could just buy my KM/H complete stock gauge cluster and simply plug it in.. I suspect it should pick up the signal and work correctly.

If not, its nothing the dealer couldn't reprogram.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
By the way, just wondering your reasoning for wanting a kmph speedo. I do prefer the kmph's speedo being equally spaced over mph's speedo's change in spacing after a certain speed. I wonder what's the rational for that?...maybe it's because there is no unlimited speed highways in mph countries.

Update on this topic - may be useful for others:

I bought the complete gauge cluster from Merc63 (Thanx) and install it on my car. So what I did is I swap my MPH speedometer gauge cluster (US spec) to KMPH speedometer gauge cluster (Canada spec).

Instillation was straight forward, 15 min max. I was glad that it's only one cable to un-hock/hock. I turned the car on and the gauge is working perfect. Plug-n-play , no programming was required. But I notice the following:

- in my old cluster (US) I used to have the option to switch of the day-running head lights (in the settings)
Now the one I have doesn't have this option, so my headlights are always on, even in off position.

- The new cluster have the option for folding the mirror when switching the car off. so I guess if I bought the folding mirror, the cluster can command the mirrors to fold.

- the new cluster can show me the odometer of the daily drive (the one that I can reset) , but not the actual odometer. so now I'm keeping pen and paper to log it.

my US cluster

My new cluster - with no bottom odo

and it actually memorize the odo of the other (Merc63 )

but everything is working ...

except for this that I can live with

It is because your cluster mileage doesn't match the mileage in the CPU. I think you have to get it set to zero or something.

Also, DRLs cannot be turned off in Canada. You probably need it programmed with software from Europe where you can turn off the DRLs.

Legally, yes, Canadian cars require DRL's, but they can be turned off easily. Anyone with access to STAR can simply turn them off via the menu's and enable/disable many other neat things.
