Check engine light and high pitch sound
I was in bumper to bumper traffic and I felt my car kind of burp and move forward. Wasn't sure what just happened. Minutes later the check engine light comes on.
When I get home I life the hood and there is this high pitch whistling sound coming from the center of the engine bay.
I'm going to try and get it into the dealer tomorrow to see what code comes up, but has anyone had anything sounding similar?

My engine has made a strange variety of sounds in the past but no whistling sound like that really. Wish I could help but I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of it at the dealer. Keep us posted.

My car made the same exact sound last week... I turned it off... returned to it 10 hours later and no sound... been 4 days and no return yet... Keep us posted on what the dealer says.

Just got the car back from the dealer today. It was an intake manifold gasket leak. They replaced everything under warranty. After driving it home I did notice a decent increase in horsepower too.

i posted this in my thread about 3 months ago, maybe you can help me identify if this is the same/or similar sound? not a high pitch but a low pitch - sort of like a 'whining' or 'ringing' sound?

*i did bring the car at the dealership and they said its a normal sound and not even bother to check it :-(

Yours sounds completely normal to me. I don't hear anything out of the ordinary. Are you having problems with the car? Did you have a CEL appear?
I knew there was a problem because I had 5 CEL codes appear and my car wasn't running any better on the track after having the headers installed than when I ran tune only. These were clear indicators that something wasn't right. You will know when something isn't right. You'll either feel it, smell it, or hear it and it will be noticeable.
