Off topic - ever heard of the FoundersCard?
1. Has anyone even heard of this?
2. Would it be worth the $295 discounted annual membership fee?

I have one, I don't use it much but hotel deals aren't bad with it if they give you an upgrade due to using the card, otherwise you can often find rates cheaper on hotels.com, etc.
Business deals are pretty good in some cases, printing, domain registrations @ 50% off, DropBox dicount, etc. Most of them are only useful if you're a business in the tech space though.

Based on reading up on it and seeing what AgentOrange said, I think you are better off going with an AMEX Platinum. $450 annual fee, ALOT more benefits, especially usable ones IMO. At least for me it works much better.

Yeah, I might have to upgrade my Gold card to Platinum. I just thought I'd check with all you smart folks to see what your opinions were. It sounds intriguing. I think if international travel was part of your business, this would be a killer access card, or if you were looking to network with other CEOs/founders.

Even on International travel I favor the Platinum card. If you use points and book through AMEX (which their rates I find to be right in line with the best of them) they give you 20% of your points back which for all intents and purposes, is just like 20% off for me. Top that with the fact that if you are traveling International and you book business, they give you a second business class ticket for free. Can't top that lol.

my wife bananas! :D
my point of view is that if i am going to buy something, might as well get a bonus with every purchase. I save up on travel miles and pretty much can get a first class round trip to HK every other year.

Merchants pay a higher percentage to run that card (other than AMEX). I know of merchants personally that wont accept the points cards offered by capital one and such.
Not worth it on their end, they get stuck with the tab. And we are talking like .5-.75 % more here. Some of the rewards card Visa is almost as high as the AMEX
