My passenger fog light does not turn on in the automatic setting, but always works when you flip the headlight switch to clicks to the right and pull the knob. It's a 2010.

Anyone know what the deal is here?

Thanks,

Donny

I have a 2010 and would like to know as well. I notice the same issue and couldn't find anything on it other than it might have to do with the auto on/off feature with the turn signals. Sometimes only one side will turn on in auto mode making it look like the other side is burnt out.

Do you have aftermarket or LED side markers? I was wondering if it had anything to do with that.

I have a MY2010 as well. AFAIK thru my research is that the fog lights turn on when you are making a turn. so for instance, if you turn left, the left fog lights up to give you more illumination... and it stays on for a bit after the turn.

and yes, I find it goofy myself as it makes it look like that I have one side burnt. would like to know if there is a way to disable this feature or to have both turn on regardless of direction you turn

So you are telling me that they go on and off as you turn? Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, that's what they do...the precursor of adaptive cornering lights.

Is there a bypass for this? I can't have one fog light out I don't care what MB's intent is.

IIRC the procedure for deactivating the cornering light feature is in the main C-class owner's manual.

The line I got from my dealer is that the cornering light function cannot be disabled as it is deemed a "safety related" feature. Presumably you can "disable" it by having the fog lights on all the time.

If you need your fog lights all the time, then just leave them activated. Your car shuts them down when it's off anyway. The only downside to that is if you have the "locator" lights on when you unlock the car, having the fog lights activated will disable that.

On your switch for the headlights, the circular thing with the knob, turn it all the way to the right and pull it out. Both Fog Lights will be on at the same time.
