Question Recommendations for AMG Models to Buy

I just joined the group and I'm hoping members will be able to assist me in my decision to get my next daily driver, which will be my only driver. Here's my current situation. I have an '09 Nissan GT-R Premium Red, stock with 25K miles that I'm trying to sell. Awesome performance car but not good for a daily driver for me. I also own a '12 Mitsubishi Evolution, MR edition, with slightly more than 1,500 miles on it, fully optioned. This is a great handling car, but to me it's lacking in acceleration, at least what I am accustomed to (my previous DD's were an '07 M6, '09 CTS-V, and '05 S4). I also absolutely hate the interior. Even with the MR upgrade, cheap plastic abounds, and really, it's not much a step up from a base Lancer's interior. As a performance driven vehicle, it's a fun car to drive, and track if you're into that. But I want more power for my DD and better interior, tech features, and creature comforts. My CTS-V delivered incredible performance, but wasn't fond of the interior. The M6, well...it just didn't, "do it", for me. Since I live in the DC area, I need something I can drive in all seasons, which would include below freezing temperatures and a small accumulation of snow (< 3-4 inches), but while an AWD is not a must, if a RWD vehicle, then it must drive well with All Seasons or Winter tires.

I've driven a used C63 before and liked the instant acceleration, seats, and interior. The exterior was kind of ho-hum, but I'm sure that can be accessorized. There seem to be quite a few AMG models out there, and I'd like to hear from the community recommendations for me. After selling the GT-R and EVO and paying off what I owe, I should have approximately $40K in hand. I would like to keep the purchase price of a used MB AMG to that amount and under, or not much more than that. A warranty is a must, too.

Thanks, and I look forward to the help!

Unfortunately a $90K Plus vehicle is just about double what I wanted to pay.

E63 is right up your alley. You can find a used one for around that price, maybe a bit more for the better ones with lower mileage (relatively). Since interior quality and comfort seem important to you, I would advocate that over a C63.

Also, if your budget is 40k and you want any kind of modern technology, you're going to be limited in your choices here. E/CLS/C or go pre-2007.

How would an E63 AMG do with proper snow tires in the Winter? I need a car that I can drive year round here in the DC area. I don't mean driving through a foot of snow, but one that can handle having to drive home from work after it snowed a bit. When I owned a CTS-V, I put Winter performance tires on it and I was satisfied with them. Anyway, I would like to keep my purchase price of an AMG to $40K, but would consider spending up to $50K for the right one.

Get an '08 or '09 C63. You will not be disappointed. Don't pay attention to the few that might bring up "scary" thing to look out for.

I had an '09, drove it for 18+ thousand miles, had no issues what-so-ever. Well, except that I rolled it and totaled it. Before that was my first purchase into AMG, an '08 C63 AMG. It is still my baby, have had no more faults or repairs. It had 60K on the clock. Still as powerful as I remembered. And, you get the MB treatment inside, all be it, it is an "entry class" MB. So, there are some bumps and rattles.

All 3 have been wonderful cars!!! This coming from a 997 911 Carrera S owner. Just my 2cents.

E63 will be similar to the V from my vantagepoint in terms of snow, however I have not driven them in the snow back to back to compare honestly. Winter tires would be a must with either the C/E/CLS, cannot drive in snow on summer tires, you literally will barely move (this I do know for a fact).

Sounds like a nice 09 E63 would be right up your alley. I think you will be disappointed with the C's interior in comparison. The E will be faster in a straight line too for those 495 onramps

I know we are on AMG forum but since your budget is limited to 40K and luxury/AWD is on your list (even if not a priority), I would seriously consider an RS4 or RS6.
If you want to stay with Merc, do not overlook an E550 AWD.

I think you need an awd winter beater so you can get a nice MB and keep it nice and warm and clean in the garage during the winter.

Can you order this car now?? I'm almost certain I'll replace my C63 with the new E class.
