Sooo car was running just fine then I went out and got a tune from jeremy at oe tuning (they have been great by the way) and right after that every time I accelerate I hear a grinding type noise coming from engine for a few seconds then it goes away. So I email jeremy he send me a new tune with less aggressive torque curve and at the same time I put on toyo r888's all was well....BUT now fast forward a week and a half and I hear that grinding noise again. it's much fainter but it's still there. What is going on??

Flash it back to stock. Drive it a few weeks see if it happens.

Nothing meaning no grinding, or nothing meaning no change?

meaning no grinding. Grinding noise only happens with tune.

I was going to flash it to stock and take it to dealer, but they wouldn't hear anything and wouldn't know what to fix. I am worried I already damaged my car

Confused here. You said you flashed it to stock and it did nothing... Did you?

Flash it to stock, record the sound on your phone or take a drive with your SA and show him.

What he's saying is that the sound only occurs when he puts the tune. When he flashes it back to stock there is no sound, therefore, he's not going to take it to the dealer because there will be no sound.

If he puts the tune on and take it to the dealer with the sound, they gonna void his warranty.

Exactly...I don't know what to do. I don't mind flashing it back and keeping it stock but im worried I will be driving a ticking time bomb.

A guess here, but could be something with the cam adjusters? Can you record the sound?

Does it seem like your shifts are slower when you have the tune? Or something just doesnt feel normal in addition to the sound? Like hesitation in power ect?

OE has a return policy? Return the tune and try another company? That way you can see if your car is the issue or the tune.

Hi Steve, I have sent you a PM.
This is not something that is expected from our tested and developed tuning platform for M156 63AMG or tune installation. We are dedicated to working with you to figure out what exactly is going on.

Jeremy has tuned my m3 also and I feel comfortable with him, so Id rather not go with another company at this point. Car feels fine with the tune...it didn't feel like that much of a change over stock, but It didn't feel like the shifts were slow or anything. It's just the noise.... with the second tune it doesn't make the noise as often but it definitely does it. Yesterday I started car and hopped on the freeway doing normal speeds ( I was in s mode) and the car wouldn't change gears, I even tried changing them manually but it wouldn't let me. The car just stayed in second gear which caused my engine oil temp to sky rocket. I had to pull over turn off car and let it cool down. When I restarted the car it shifted again but the grinding noise was horrible!

it's sad I really enjoy this car.

It must be the MCT acting up. Mine has the latest OE tune and no issues what so ever.

My main concern is that I did some sort of permanent damage to my car. Super bummed as half the reason I got this car was for its tuning capabilities.

I think it's your trans and not the motor, these new trans are having allot of issues. Take in and have the dealer look at it.

That's the plan. I am just worried that they will say "Can't duplicate the problem, everything looks fine" since I will be taking it in stock form not flashed.

If its the trans, it would do it in stock form.

Take it in none the less and see what they say.. It can't hurt.

OE is a big outfit, if there was a problem with the tune, id imagine others would have seen it before as well..

Like Ramin said, sounds like a tranny problem. MCT has been plagued with issues.

Wait...you don't think its trans related but you think its related to the MCT?

put the tune back in it and take it to Serge at Benzworks. He also works closely with Jeremy, I'm pretty sure they both will get you the help you need and figure out what is happening.

Just to clarify though, does the sound resemble a marble in a can rattling around? Is it only at WOT (wide open throttle)?

I'm thinking out loud trying to assist you with your vague description of the problem.

We need rpm, kick down, ESP on/off, accelerating WOT or putting away from a light, are tires squealing, LSD?

Folks can anyone here point to a single C63 that has had work done on the MCT? I have complained about it it does odd things, but no work ect other than looking for codes has ever been done on it.

Here is the deal, I think MB has an update version of the ECU/TCU or something as a dealer flashed mine with an update (erased my tune, dealer sheet showed ECU/TCU update), after that I had a reflash of the tune, had issues including shifting issues. Got in contact with the company and was told a different file was made despite having the original tune which was flawless for almost an entire year. Didnt go much into detail as the new file fixed all my issues.
