Suspension help/ KW V3
Hi,
I have the V3's installed on my 08 (09 for americas), and there is quite a loud knocking noise coming from the left rear area when going over any kind of bump or rough road.
Have had the car looked at and everything is tight, the only thing we were unable to see properly is the shock bearing (mount)
My garage suggested to replace this on both sides, part number 204 320 08 73
I have not been able to find somewhere to buy these online, as mbpartsworld said MB will only supply this complete with the shock.
Would appreciate if anyone had any experience with KW's making this sort of noise, or who could help point me in the right direction to find that part, or who could help to see if that part is actually the root of the problem.
ZF (who is MB HK) wants HK$2000 (US$260) for each mount, which is ridiculous.
Not to go off subject, but anyone with KW's been able to find the best settings for aggressive street driving?
Thanks!!

The bolt is tight? Pull the shock and check the shock? I had a clunk go over bumps and the sway bar wasnt tight.. not much in the back could go wrong

for me my front driver knocked they wernt k3s though but d on my non amg. This happened after I raised my car to the max setting due to rain weather. What I think is because of the springs hitting each other try lowering your car and see if the clunk noise is still there

My car is lowered quite considerably already. I'll try an upload a pic in a bit.
Parts.com sources from parts suppliers and only can supply the part as a whole set.
Does anyone know the location of the upper mount bolts from inside the car, the obvious way to check would be to see if this actual "bearing" is in good condition or that the bolts are tight.
I guess we will try and remove the shock and see from the bottom in any case.
So far, still no idea what's knocking around back there, and don't want to throw unnecessary parts here.
Thanks for the help so far guys.

If your car is too low (Lower then what the KW Manual recommends) then you could be bottoming out on bumps and hitting the bump stop.

Checked that already
I'll go for taking the rear apart and inspecting the actual mount, will let you guys know in case anyone else comes across this in the future!

Not yet unfortunately. going to swap the KW suspension over to the other side and see if the noise follows, that will narrow it down to the shock
