I am going to be speccing a new car for the first time and I want a special interior.

Really in love with a two-tone cross-stitch pattern with contrasting thread, like this off a designo SLS

Any idea how much this costs from designo?

Is it truly "you can get whatever you want" or do they just have another set of canned options like building a car online?

TIA

Unfortunately , not available on the C class in North America (believe me, I tried). It's been discussed on the forums many times before.
It's mainly another set of canned options and color palette but you can get leather in 'more' places like the upper/lower dash, doors, alcantara liner, etc. I'm sure you can also go '***** to the wall' too.

No, Designo offers a certain amount of options for each car model. The c-class is very limited. We get the leather seats (all of which are designo for some reason) and in europe the extended leather option covering the dashboard and some other parts. If you want something special, order dynamica and take the car to a good interior shop. If you like that setup just show a picture and they will make an exact replica.

Designo is not a boxed set of options - you can get anything you want. However, you can't get almost any Designo stuff here in the USA unless it's on a flagship model (ML63, S AMGs, etc.).

I would advise you contact AMG directly. They will do just about anything, it will cost you a fortune, but they do things that people aren't actively posting about, or that the general public really even knows about.

Thanks. So I would need to go around my dealer? Would prefer not to, as we've got a good relationship.

If your dealer is a true AMG performance center they may be able to help. Otherwise it's a shot in the dark in terms of if your sales guy wants to work to find out the true path to getting you what you want.

Fair enough, thanks.

This.

The car will have to be ordered with a cookie cutter interior and then sent on to the AMG Performance Studio in Affalterbach where they will re-upholster the interior to anything you desire, for a small fortune.
