gt500 vs c63

how on earth is this a fair test ??
race it against a stage 1 weistec c63 and maybe it would be fair. imo, its embarrassing that they are actually this close with almost 200hp difference.

Steel Grey Metallic C63!!
Relax...it's just a comparison. No need to get your panties all wadded up. You sound like a M3 owner complaining about how the C63 has more power. At least we got to see what a p31 C63 does against the GT500.

I kinda agree with the OP. All he said is how is this a fair test.

It's somewhat similar to posting a C63 not PP1 against a Golf GTI and letting the C63 rape all up and down it. If you're gonna compare like for like, put it up against the M3 or RS4 or RS6 or ISF. GT500 is most Ferrari material so pit it up against that IMO. Obviously this was done by someone who has a GT500 or admires it and not a C63 fan.

On paper, all the magazines say they both have similar 0-60 and quarter mile times. You also have to remember that the GT500 is a manual transmission car, while the C63 is an auto. For a straight line comparo, the C63 has a transmission advantage. I actually consider them to be comparable vehicles as they both occupy similar price points.

It's just comparison shopping.......How do you want to spend your $65,000...pros and cons either way.

I don't know brother. comparison shopping would be interior shots etc. Not a simple drag race. But I get you.

Please explain. These 2 cars have polar opposite technologies.

When I say this, I clearly don't mean technology, quality of build, finish etc, I mean simple, put them on a drag strip together and they will hold together.

96 and 08 911 turbos
run what you brung. both cars are stock, both are roughly the same cost.

Its not like they said you should buy a gt500, all they showed was that the mustang was faster in a straight line, which it is.

what is unfair here?

first of all, i cannot believe how some people bother replying to general posts like this in a negative way, but that says alot about how different human beings can be :P
i posted this to discuss, ON A CAR FORUM .. i didn't hold people hostage at CNN to display it on national TV .. just wanted to talk to other enthusiasts, see what they think..
copare the shleby to the zl1, makes sense, forced induction v8s .. but to try and bring downn the germans by pitting a 480bhp car against a 660bhp, is what's confusing me .. in the end, im not winning or loosing any bets or races or reputation, its just a forum topic ... loorddd ...
but anyways, i agree c-63amg, the shelby on the drag strip could be compared to and f430, maybe a 599, gallardo, and im sure it would do well .. but a 4 door sedan .. don't think so.. would have been cool to see it race a weistec c63

i raced a boss 302, stock for stock, 3rd gear onwards its a loosing battle for the boss ..

on another note i raced a black series around 7 times this past weekend .. EXACTLY head to head even up to 110 mph .. i had a passenger with me though, so i don't know if i would have been faster if it was just me .. shot plenty of videos, but they aren't great .. my car is tinted, the BS is matte black, and it was at night :P darkness x3 .. but i will post the best one soon

Would love to trade our E46 M3 for a boss 302! I think a boss 302 and C63 is a perfect stable but she is to attached to the M3 lol
