Okay - the rear carbon ceramic rotors don't even come close to fitting. Apparently the "E" series parking brake assembly is MUCH larger and the "C" wheel hub doesn't extend out far enough. One last effort by purchasing the "E" wheel assembly to see if its interchangeable. Long shot but worth a shot at this point.

You know my wife says the same thing. Now she just asks which shop its in.

Hopefully the brake work is the last part so we can get back to road racing soon!!

For those that care:

No wonder you couldnt find any wheels to fit. Those rotors stick out quite a bit further than stock.

I would say you have to run the BS conversion or fender flares just to use these.

A fender flare and wheel spacer would probably work as well.

These are the rears. I bought the standard black series 19" 10 spoke wheels and they fit great on the front. I believe the extra thickness of the rotors will all go to the inside and not effect the wheel offsets. Here's the new rear 19 x 9-1/2" that are getting widened to 11-1/2".

I don't see why not. I believe the brakes are the same and didn't get changed between the standard and black series C63.

Keith, there has to be a way to make those brakes work.
It's been done before in Sweden

The fronts are all installed/complete including the wheels and tires. I just started the rears yesterday. I am confident I'll be able to make them work.

Ok, I missed the part that it's the rear rotors causing problems
I love the fact that You're not taking shortcuts with this project - from 100% drag monster to 100% road racing killer.
You must really love this car

Thank you!! Quite the compliment coming from you.
I might NOT be done drag racing yet.
These rotors are much lighter all the way around. The larger rears only weigh 13#, sweet!!

.
How are you going to widen the rear one-piece wheels? To not upset the offest, wouldn't you need to extend it outwards from the face and essentially make it a "deep dish" wheel? Or do you cut the barrel in half, weld in a new section, and use a spacer to accomdate?

Can you take the "hat" off and switch it to the carbon disc to make it work with the C63 axle?

Brakes are bigger on the BS I believe: 390mm/360mm for the BS and 360mm/330mm for the standard coupe.

Wow, that's ambitious. Why not just change wheels to something in 19" that will work?

Here's one with the SLS CC conversion, but it was on a CLK BS with 20s.

Very nice conversion keith. Looks great with the BS wheels. I would leave them the stock color imo. Let me know if you need help on OEM parts I am sure I can get a better deal for you than MHP. Unless they are doing all the work, then I would understand getting them from them.

Also I believe Keith said he could not go larger on the wheels because of his drag radials will not fit and they do not make a bigger size.

I have to ask, as someone who admires your persistence but is curious just how mad you really are...do you really buy OEM parts just to test, and when they don't work you just eat the cost? Or do you have something worked out with a dealer where you can test fit these parts and return if they don't work? Off topic, but I have wondered as I see your threads trying all of this stuff out!!

Let's just say my local dealer and I have an agreement that works for both of us. They are a great group!!

Speaking of that I got the "E" wheel carrier today and it looks like its going to be a direct replacement as long as the "E" and "C" axles are the same length. If not I may have to change the axles to the "E" which I understand are larger anyway so that would be a nice upgrade for me. I'll keep you updated as we make progress.
