I have the ice tank water pump on it's own circuit and toggle, i keep it turned off until I get to the burnout box, it usually works perfect, the aluminum ice resevior keeps the ice cold pretty well except in those situations like I explained above where I am at a test and tune and there are very long lines and then somebody oils down the track and the wait in the line is compounded. The ice will eventually melt and then I am stuck with cold water in the tank. My last time out this fall there were long lines and the car ahead of me blew out his windsheild on his pass, I had already flipped on my ice switch and done my burn out then I had to sit and wait 15 minutes while the swept glass off the track and I was now running hot water through my tank. 9 times out of 10 everything works out fine and there is ice in there when there is supposed to be. Private rentals are the way to go but unfortunatly I was doing a lot of testing this summer of new product and the best way to do it was test and tunes and a few of them had a HUGE turnout so leaving the staging lane was not an option so I would just make the most of it and make a pass even though I knew the ice was melted or begining to melt long before the lights turned green.Originally Posted by GeorgeSmooth
This is quite interesting and good information. I will look at it and see if a bypass can be fitted. Then you can run the water through the tank just before you ready to go. Off the bat do you think this is possible?

Out of curiosity why would a test & tune with long lines and limited track time be the best way to test and dial in a new product?Originally Posted by jrcart

It's not the best way but at one point this summer I was going out 3-4 weeks in a row and even with my wallet 4 back to back to back private rentals can get costly. The track I was going to (Byron) usually has low turnout for their test & tunes but the weeks I was there they were also holding actuall points events, one week it was a bracket even the following week it was jr Dragsters(terrible) so they would let the t&t guys go then they would have the event guys run. Had I know I would not have even showed up but I was there so I might as well make the most of it.Originally Posted by propain

I hear ya, I thought I was missing something. Every test & tune I have been to on the east coast has been a nightmare. 2 maybe 3 runs. I told myself long ago I would never attend one again if I was bringing a car to race.
So you still interested in your car? Any plans to set some records? Now is the time.

I am still interested, it 18 degrees here in Chicago, not much racing going on LOL. After I get through the holidays I have a trip to Vegas then an off-road run in my Raptor and then a cruise with the family then I will be looking into some private rentals somewhere warmer later this winter.Originally Posted by propain

Sounds like a great party. Ill write it off as a business trip as I do a ton of business in FL. I am in.

Gawd this sounds like a hangover already. The house is about 10 miles south of Fort Myers. I keep a low profile which is why I live there but perhaps this might change things....Originally Posted by propain

The blower is sitting on my work bench. Haven't found a gap to fit yet but hoping to get it done on the 3rd. Working a 36 hour shift now so toys come last.Originally Posted by Merc63

I am a bit **** when it comes to working on cars so the environment has to be perfect. Don't like doing drips and drabs. I am very patient though. Funny thing is as soon as its on and after the run in the car goes to the body shop to have the Prior design widebody fitted (if they deliver in time). Thereafter straight for a roll cage which I am going to try integrate into the existing body with the rear section bolting off and the front being unobtrusive. I have to do this otherwise will only get one run on the track.

The only stumbling block is to figure out where to send my wife and we will be good to go.
