Bearings in my bottom end spun out...
Does any one know of any manufacturer that makes bearings for the 63 engine? I have a cls63 I had the engine torn out by mercedes because of a knock and it turns out thrust bearing spun out causing it to eat away into the block and the crank... MB says they don't know of anyone that makes bearings that could work after machinging. My mechanic implied that damage to block is not that extensive that it might be able to be machined if the proper bearings are found.
My other options are 14k for a short block + previous labor... Unless some one has a used used block or used running engine... Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I know that this is the C class forum and I have a cls but seem that you guys have the most experience with these engines..

A little internet searching came up with this...
http://www.kingbearings.com/oem_replacement.php
http://www.asiaticbearing.com/bearings.htm
Pretty much you just need to give your dimensions to any manufacturer and they'll provide.

MBWorld Fanatic!
whoever qouted you 14k$ for a short block for a cls63 pulled that number out of their ***. your looking at twice that easily. its 25k$ for a 113 amg motor block with fitted pistons. thats not crank or rods. the m156 is going to be alot pricier.

We can help you out on this. If you want to install factory parts it can be done for a decent price. We would need to inspect the crankshaft and block to mic everything and go from there. The crankshaft if in line can be cleaned up like new and the block can be line honed. From there we can spec bearings and assemble the rest of the engine. You will need new gaskets and bolts, and we recommend installing new valve tappets since you are digging this deep. Call us and we can speak more in detail. Thank you!!
