Mercedes has unveiled an even more powerful, more aggressive C63 AMG model dubbed the “Edition 507″. The output of the AMG 6.3 liter V8 engine has been increased by 56 hp, bringing the output to 507 hp with 450 lb.-ft. of torque. Much of the technology from the SLS AMG has been carried over to the 2014 C63 AMG “Edition 507″ including: the eight-cylinder naturally aspirated engine features forged pistons, connecting rods and a lightweight crankshaft as seen on the super sports car. An AMG high-performance compound constuction braking system with red brake calipers is fitted as standard.
The C63 AMG “Edition 507″ will be on show in Geneva and be available in the Summer of 2013.......

I was initially worried about that.. but its not even close to the same car. The stance of the BS really sets it off. I get more looks, thumbs up, and honks with my BS than I have any other car... and I've driven a Lamborghini, Bentley, Audi R8 V10. Doesn't have the coilover track suspension. Doesn't have the packages you can get with the BS.

I'm not...there really is no comparison between the two. All the 507 edition is, is another name instead of calling it a P31 package, that's it.

The BS is on a totally different level. This is just a tune and a hood
It's just a clear out of the W204 body style cuz the new '15 is coming

People who are buying BS cars aren't looking for the best bargain IMO. They are looking for a special and exclusive car with a very high level of performance... that is exactly what they got and the 507 isn't that car.

There's no comparison really between this car & the B.S.
I mean, just being a "Black Series" sets those models apart....it always has, & always will.....they are very special, & "Limited Production", which the 507 isn't.
Cheers, Pickles.

The Black Series is a full blown track car that unfortunately in the hands of 95% owners will be lucky to have the traction control taken off.
507 has nothing on a BS. Its like saying the SLS GT takes away from the SLS BS.. Total nonsense.

what was said about the sls black series and sls gt doesn't make any sense .. the power figures are veerrryy close, and the handeling probably will be too .. what sets the black series apart again, is the exclusivity, the extras yeh, but the exclusivity is what sets that price tag of 400k ..
what i said about the 507 is my perspective on the car, and i stand by it .. i've been taught to enjoy wealth and the good stuff in life but not take it for granted, which is good cause i tend to think twice about a purchase. the BS my friend got was exactly double the price of my car, and truth be told, i would not replace my car for that even if it was for free, because i had to work hard for this specific car, and developed a relationship with it, i appretiate it for what it is kinda thing .. yes id love a ferrari italia or an aventador, sure, but i still love MY car .. and that being said, to me, a 507 would be a better deal than a black series, because you are that much closer to it without the price tag ..
it all boils down to preference, some people don't have a price on exclusivity and one of a kind items, which is great, more power to them .. not my feelings though

i agree with the first part, truly, all it is is the exclusivity .. a friend of mine has one, and i've driven it, it handles better that's for sure, but with my mods we are head 2 head down to an inch anywhere from 30mph upwards .. the exclusivity is what sets it apart.

how were they able to get 507 with just a tune? I have a coupe pp, can a tune over a stock tune get a 30 more horse?

We have certainly gotten spoiled over the years. This is the first "performance package" that actually "raises the bar" versus standard, something that every other model has had available all along. The styling components are fairly substancial and include the AMG performance media. If it had been available in 2009 we would have been head over heels!
The only shortcoming that MB refuses to address is the wheel / tire sizes. Good thing they figured out how to raise the HP without much change in torque.

From my understanding, the P31 development package is discontinued, and only available/replaced with the 507 Edition package. You can still get a standard 451hp C63.

Where did you draw this conclusion from? 507 Edition seems to be just that, a special edition release much like the Affalterbach model, and Edition 1 releases. I haven't seen anything saying that this was replacing the P31 package. Do you have any sources stating the p31 is being discontinued in 2014?
