Just went and got car scanned said p2540 low pressure fuel sytem sensor/ circuit range/ performance. They thought was gas cap and it is not havent got car filled. Car sat for 2 months came on first time i drove it. Please help

 

Check your fuel pressure.

I have fuel pumps if you need. They are under rear seat.

Dealership changed my fuel pump last year and error gone. No issues since then. Dont waste your time on sensors / regulators, etc. It is the fuel pump.

 

Thanks for the info im going to take it to the dealer next week, can i still drive the car there?

 

Yes you can, fuel pump goes into "safe mode" and pumps constant higher fuel pressure. I drove and raced my car for over a year before getting the pump changed. Worst case is your car runs too rich.

I have a 2009 E63 with a fault code P2540 that comes and goes , the car has 2 fuel pumps under the seat, how do I know which one needs to be changed, or which one to order online , websites says primary fuel pump and secondary fuel pump.
also does this affects the 0 to 60 performance, because the best that could get was 5.2 sec
