Parking brake
Does anybody know if the c63 amg (2013) comes with an electronic parking brake? Recently i lost my legs in Afghanistan in an ied blast and now i have recovered would love to own one of these cars, however the mercedes usual- foot operated park brake just wont cut it for me for obvious reasons!
If no electronic brake, would there be an option of getting one fitted.....

Hey Alec, sorry to hear of your situation. My understanding is the brake is the same as the 2012 which I have ie, a foot brake and a hand release. Strength to you my friend.

1. Lots of respect for your service
2. Consider an Audi RS5. It has a electronic parking brake that is applied by flipping a switch near the gear selector between the front seats.

edit: Do people even use the parking brake.. I use mine around 50% of the time at most... I am sure you could get by without using it, not like it is a true emergency brake like a hand operated one which I prefer over the foot brake)
Sorry about the loss of your legs. Not sure where you live, but it is pretty much the same in most states and counties. (or so I have been told by an ex co worker who has hand controls for everything on an auto Mustang GT). The county/State will cover the costs to modify the vehicle to make it usable for disabled people. My ex co worker had a birth defect and the legs never developed. So it is doable if you really want the C63..
Then again.. I am not sure if the states or counties have a cutoff value where they will not do the modifications. (ei preventing people with money and expensive cars using state funds to perform work on the vehicle).
Check with your city council, they should be able to point you in the right direction.
Worse case.. there are plenty of smart people here.. I am sure we could rig something up to use your arms to engage the parking brake..

Sorry buddy to hear the god awful news but I hope you have managed to fight past it and props to you.
Personally I have never used my parking brake unless parked at an angle on a hill or the car is on a ramp to be lifted.
Out of interest, can the key / fob be removed if the car is left in gear?
