C63 taking much more oil then manual spec after oil change.
I am becoming concerned now since I have added almost 2L extra then what the manual for my car calls for.
Manual says 8.0L I have put in 10L and its barely registering on the dip stick.
I collected the oil I took out and its 5L + 3.89L thats 8.89L Total.
Only difference is I switched from 0W40 Euro Formula to Liqui Moly 5W40 wondering if its sticking to more things in the engine now and not draining down?

I did that last night after adding 1L it didn't come up much at all. Let it sit overnight so everything would drain back down and its still barely between the two marks. Just added an extra litre and its sitting right now Ill check it in 45 min. Is there a chance there could be the wrong amount in the jugs ? I doubt it looks like its proper they are factory sealed.
If I remember right last year when I changed it, it took more then what they manual said I drained the oil cooler which is supposed to be .5L extra, but I am ocd about getting all the old oil out so I let the car sit and drain for about an hour which no dealer would do.
I took it out for a spirited drive on Friday hopefully I didn't damage anything.

Just checked it now after adding 10L total its 1/4 from the bottom marker so that's acceptable in my opinion and will allow for some expansion when it gets really hot.
I have to go for a long drive today I am going to check it when I get back when its really warmed up.
Wonder why it took so much this time?

I just changed my oil. took exactly 9 quarts (manual says car is 9.5), I vacuumed the oil out from the top, pulled out about 7 quarts, then drained from both pan and oil cooler, that pulled about another quart out, and I was apparently a little low when I went to change it anyways (not to mention washed car and such).
If you changed your oil via the vacuum method, then there would have been about 10% of the oil left in the car (maybe a quart or so). So if you put in 10L, you put way too much in.. how much did you pull from the car in the first place.

I didn't use the vacuum method because I bought it and then forgot about the oil cooler so I have to go drain that I might as well just drain the pan too.
I collected nearly 9L that came out, when the car is only supposed to have 8L according to the manual. I just drove 300k and its nice and warmed up in 45 min I'll go check it to see what its showing when its warmed up I am thinking it will be about full now.

You gotta be careful overfilling oil can damage the engine , the engine takes 8.5 litres, unless its leaking out the bottom or somewhere else there is not reason you should ever have to add more than 8.5 litres during an oil change

Its not leaking anywhere... I trust the dipstick more then the manual... maybe that's why all these people complain of lifter noise not enough oil in the engine.
It took 10 L its running perfectly and its showing half full on the dipstick.

Half full at 10L? Mmm, smith is not right. I bring my own oil to the dealership for my oil change, and they always use around 8.5L to 9L to the full mark.

My C63 was one of the first ones in Canada so it might have different parts then your car... bigger oil cooler? It's within the acceptable range I have checked it a few times.

Agree c230k at least you are looking at the dipstick as its the best way to measure than just sealer up till you go to the dealer next, people are crazy with letting the oil light to come on to,tell you to add, at that point the engine may have about 6.5 to 7 litres, which after time will wear the engine, guess there shouldn't be a mystery when these things tick or have other issues
Simple thing but how level is your car when checking oil? make sure she's not on a slanted driveway
