I like the RE-11's better than the PSS, as I have these tires on both of my fun cars. The only negative on the RE-11 is more difficulty in finding a size.

Yeah for sure. I had a 295 on my rear before (PS2) and the 275 rips it up to pieces. I liked the 295 stance but at the end of the day I'd rather a 275 which sticks to the ground than a 295 that leaves me off the side of the road.

Any recomendation on sizes changes?

I am do for tire change and was thinking of upsizing. Currently I have the original 235/40/18 and 255/35/18 PZeros, which suck, on the original 5 spoke wheels on my 2009 C63, which I am not planning on changing.

Was thinking on 265/35/18 or 275/30/18 in the rear 245/35/18 or 245/40/18 in the front.
I notices some prior posting mentioning they had 275 in the rear. What are you driving in the front?

Built,
I've been through this personally. I'll tell you my experience with the PSS warranty on my C63.

Got 2 rear PSS in 275/35/18 from Americas Tire Co. Tires were bald by 14,000 miles. ATC prorated the warranty for me, which ended up being around $150 towards a new set of tires. Got 2 more from ATC at ~$150 discount, clock has been reset for another 15,000 miles.

Still worth it since the tires EVEN lasted 14,000 miles instead of 5,000 miles like the OE pirelli's.

check the specs on whatever tires you are considering because some 265s actually have a wider tread than the same model's 275s. true story.

thanks! problem is i don't have any of those stores in my general area and i always use Discount Tire Direct, Vulcan or rarely Tire Rack for my tires. one time in my life i had a tire issue and Tire Rack made it a royal PITA to get it situated. the reason i don't use Sears is because there is no way in hell they are touching these wheels. i use a local shop that has a Corghi tire machine.

i gotta figure out what to do.

I have decided to go with Super Sports, but they don't make my rear size (285/30ZR19). Does anyone here know how 295 or 275 work out on a '12 e63? Sorry, I know this is the c63 forum, but let me know if you by chance also drive an e63.

Jean, could you compare the two tires in terms of tread wear and road noise/vibration/harshness?

Thanks,
Josh

I've owned both too so I'll chime in. The RE-11 was the better performance tire. More grip, better responsiveness, firmer. When new, they make the car very fun to drive. Downsides are the ride was a harsher, rain grip a little worse, got a noisier as they wore and wore much quicker (maybe 60% as long). If the car sees any track time, the RE-11 is a better (much better) choice. If you care about comfort and the car is a DD, I would go with the PSS.

i had PSS and i love it. order a new set for my adv.

great tire for DD and spirited driving and not bad on the track (but, like gthal says, if the car is exclusive track/fun car, there are better options). I think a good soft compound tire would be wasted if you use the car for DD

i've run stocks, michelin ps2, pss, toyo, nexens

for my daily driving, occasional trips to the 1/4, rainy days... best bang for buck for me has been my nexens... practically no noise, works great in the rain, and works better in the dry... gripwise you can't compare to pss but from the kind of driving i do on the street, the nexens are perfect... and they last even through multiple trips to the track... and once i get a set of wheels for a drag set up, the nexens will last even longer... my best 60' time on street tires came from using the nexens...

to each their own... good luck with your choices...

I think I will try the PSS when I change mine.
