Preferred Tires? Any input appreciated
Hey guys,
Im from the e63 forum and am wondering what people's preferred tires are, but the e63 guys don't seem very into their tires...so could you tell me what you're running? Thanks
Josh

I have tried pss michelins and like them a lot. There are many opinions in this forum, but almost all agree that the stock tires suck!

PSS for daily driving. There isn't a better tire, IMO, that blends comfort, wet weather performance, grip and tread life. The PSS is close, grip wise, with more hardcore tires like the RE11, NT05, etc but without the compromises in daily use.

Agreed good bang for the buck BUT when I had these on my M3, I regretted it constantly. The performance was noticeably lower than the PS2 (at the time) and even more so with the PSS. If the extra few hundred really matter, then I agree they are great bank for the buck. If you don't mind spending the extra money, the PSS are much improved.
My experience also is that the V12 don't last very long. I only got one season out of the rears on my M3 including 3 track days (with much less torque) and the PSS on my C63 are going into their second season (4 track days so far) with tons of tread... I might be able to squeeze 3 seasons out of them (25,000 km). If they never went to the track, I am sure I could get that much.

For a staggered set up, PSS also comes with a 15k mileage warranty. Hard to beat.

Just placed and order for Nitto's NT05, I am excited to test these out!
It would be nice if there was a sticky that listed the different tires and their sizes that would fit on our cars with out rubbing, like what would fit on our oem 18/19 as well as some aftermarket sizes.
I was considering 275/40/18 but couldn't find anything anywhere on if that wouldn't work so I just went with 275/35/18.

Now you are confused...
V12 was a great tire on my C, but the traction faded while there was still a good 40% thread left. This wasn't an issue on my M3

I have a set of RE11s that are unreal in the wet and dry. Expensive though.
Honestly, this car goes through rear tires so bad that I just run cheap *** korean tires on it now in the back. For daily driving, its all that is really needed...
I even went to the track with my cheap *** all seasons on the rear and was still cutting times 0.5seconds slower then with the RE11s.. The back spins a little more.

so, you order the tires...
and install them.
let's say they wear out at five or 10k...
how do you go about getting the warranty fulfilled?
also, are Michelin the only ones to do this?

There is a fine print somewhere that says these tires need to be OE, which for c63 they are not. I however talked to my tech at America's tire and he says that they have to evaluate for uneven wear. If worn evenly, a claim request can be made.

They are less noisy than worn Conti contact 3, less noisy than nitto invo and less noisy than Dunlop Sport Maxx TT and less noisy than the PS2s I had.
The Nitto Invo's I had on were noisy.
The NT05 is crazy insane for sticking to the ground! Amazing amazing tire and I got them for robbery prices.
