so some of you may know, that last summer i purchased a set of ADV5.0 Trakfunctions and had some vibration problems with it. I just wanted to update everyone on what actually ended up happening.

https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...-question.html

(initial thread for those who are interested)

anyways, after talking to Jordan, they ended up exchanging my wheels for these adv10.1sl:

I just mounted them today and they look brilliant!

I am happy with the wheels and that they compensated me well, I know ADV some times gets a bad rep on here so I wanted to put in a good word for them. I know it took a while but at the end I am happy with the way everything turned out (I got the wheels since December, but just didnt have a chance to put them on, and I wanted to make sure everything was good before making a post about it)

anyways I will update with more pictures tomorrow!

I will say it again Nat, great improvement.. Can't beat monoblock forged wheels!

The finish looks like my brushed w/tinted clear.

Everything happens for a reason and in this case frankly you came out wayyy on top. New wheels look 100x better than old ones, especially with those huge sidewalls. Big improvement!!

Those look absolutely awesome!

If I may ask, how bad were the vibrations on your former set of wheels?

Curious to know what the vibration was from. Wheels not straight, hub bore not exact size (66.6) or did you not get an explanation?

thanks! look forward to seeing yours too! vibrations were pretty noticeable at over 80 mph

I was never offered an explanation. But we did measure the center bore and it was slightly different (back and fronts), and not exact 66.6 (but very little difference if i can recall)...so not sure if that was the cause.

I also talked to someone with a similar problem on the exact same wheel and he said he found it out to be the assembly of the 3 piece wheel itself.

Yeah, if CB (center bores) were not the right size, you'd definitely get vibrations, even if out by 1mm + up and down or 1.5mm in total. You would need to fit paper thin hub centric rings to prevent that. On expensive wheels you would expect them to get the right size though. Especially if they can do it on $100 replicas.

LoL @ Jeff! I'm not an ADV hater, but I feel bad to know Jordan is making big $$ with this new company (does he really drives a Lamborghini?) & not thinking of making up to the old customers who lost their money in the past from his old business.

Maybe it's not as simple as I said it, but it makes me feel bitter enough not to give him my money. LOL

I think he drives a 458 and a CLS renntech haha anyways from what I read hasnt he given back everything he owes to people since 360? I saw somewhere that he said if they think he still owes them something he can contact them...anyways im not too sure of the story. I actually initially thought they were a new line from ADVAN (japanese wheel) hahaha and I would have been skeptical of buying from them at first had I known about all the 360 stuff...oh well they have taken care of me good so I will be happy to buy another set from them now. All in all I do think they make the best LOOKING wheels (quality i'm not sure, its amazing for these SL monoblocks but for the TF I had I thought they weren't anything special...maybe I am biased because they broke on me lol)
