Was working away again tonight, getting closer to being finished.

Maybe 1-2 weeks before its done. ECU and TCU are on way home from Weistec.

Chugging away all day today. Blower is on, valve body is back in the tranny and sealed up, pulleys are all switches over and a few other odds and ends.

Getting close to being finished. Hopefully for the weekend!

If anyone is installing this kit and has this AC compressor pulley, it's not in the directions. If you follow the directions, which may seem right, you won't get it off.

There is a rubber dust cover in the middle of that nut that exposes a 7mm 6 point end that you turn while holding the nut with a 1 1/16th wrench. There is also a snap ring that needs to be removed and reused on the new 8 rib pulley.

Fuel injectors are in and spliced onto the cars harness, all the pulleys are on and torqued with blue loctite. Instructions called for red loctite, but I used blue in case I have to remove anything, red can make things very difficult.

I think all that is left is to mount the inter cooler, pump, power steering res, fuel rails, crimp some hoses, catch can hoses, oil change and fill the tranny up.

.
There is a special Mercedes tool that is used for pulling the the stock pulley from the clutch of the AC compresser easily that bolts directly to the three holes you see in the photo. Failure to do so might damage the clutch gradually later on resulting in slippage with the pulley and the belt. BE CAREFUL!

I have a different AC pulley then you are referring to.

There is no clutch on the outside. The pulley is held on by the bolt you see in the above picture and a 1" snap rip that goes around the bearing race. Once the snap ring is removed the pulley simply slides off.

It's my understanding that there are a few variations of this pulley.

Interested in your procedure for refilling the transmission. Maybe some pics and step by step detail if you have time. Thanks

Slaving away in garage all day again. It's almost doneeeeeeeeee. Just need to run some hoses, top the tranny off and a few other minor things.

Mort, I have a hand pump. You pump 7 liters in, turn the car on and move it through the gears, let it idle so the tranny pan hits 100f. Turn it off and top it up till the fluid runs back out and once it bubbles, put the plug in quick.

Rusting or corrosion of head bolts could possibly from electrolysis between the steel bolt and the aluminum head or just reaction to disimilar metals touching. I find it hard to believe that the head bolt would or should be surrounded by coolant and the coolant just being held back from leaking into the valve cover by just the flat surface of the head bolt. None of the bottom threads showed ant type of corrosion only oil soaked. Good job on the build though. One question did you change out the bolts for studs in reverse of the torque pattern? Something like 10/1 9/2 8/3 7/4 6/5 ? just wondering

weistec has built plenty of these engines now so aim sure they know what they are doing.

Coolant may get past the bottom threads, but the top is where the seal is, so I don't see it necessary to silicone the bottom.
Coolant should not be allowed to get past the bottom threads, there is no positive seal between the washer and the nut and the head??
Please prove me wrong!

Critter, we replaced them following the torque pattern, inside, out I believe.

The build is pretty much done. I was out ripping around tonight for a bit. I couldn't get the air boxes to sit on the *****, so the snorkels aren't on. Ill fix that tomorrow.

The new TCU tune shifts awesome, nice and hard, a very noticeable difference.

I remember when I first got a C63 back in 09, then tuned it a year after that. I remember not really feeling much of a pronounced difference (seat of the pants)... But let me tell you, going from stock to stage 3 is a hell of a jump. The car pulls and pulls and pulls. 4th gear pulls like it was in second now. I find myself holding onto the steering wheel like I'm going to fly out the back window.

Traction is a serious issue and my all seasons aren't up to the task lol. If I punch it off the line it will wrap first and second gear standing still.

George that's my belt I got from NAPA. I have a back up just incase it let's go..

This one I bought says HD on it and the one in the kit didn't so I used it... It comes green for some reason.. Kinda cool, like the hulk lol!

George, how did you get these air boxes on, they are about 3/4" off the ***** for me.

Mr474, on it.

The green belt is the ultra heavy duty belt, this is used in most PD blower applications, this belt should be solid as hell as long as it is the correct length. I find that I have belt slip when suddenly letting out of the gas like in a rev situation while in gear, otherwise if I wrap the revs up a couple thousand and let out, I won't get the slippage. Just keep an eye out for belt dust and an ear open for the squealing.

I didn't use the stock valve covers. Used the SLS covers and venting them to two catch cans, I do not recall having difficulty pushing the air boxes on. Lost the oil cap in the process so filling oil is a mission

I have about 400-500km on the car since the build and it's been great.

The best part is the driveability. I was concerned about daily driving the car with the stage 3, but it's really nothing to worry about. Putting around town around, it's like a stock car except abit more exhaust noise. Hammer it and get the revs over 4500rpm and all hell breaks loose, the car just takes off violently. Hammer it off the line and it will spin first and second gear like nothing.

I've taken a few buddies for a hammer down ride and they were giggling like school girls the entire time lol.
