C63 Black Series. HRE S101 Wheels. Dr. Beasley's/Klasse Detail. Photos. Lots.
SubscribeToday was a true car guy day. Started it off by driving a V10 R8 Spyder on Skyline Blvd here in NorCal. Took my RS4 on a hardware run and ran into another RS4 and talked a bit. Then spent the day detailing the Merc.
To summarize: 2012 C63 Black Series with OEM Matte Black (has Satin Guard transluscent total body wrap to protect paint and clear guard to protect shiny CF bits). HRE Wheels - 20x9.5 et 19 and 20x11.5 et 67. Michelin Pilos Super Sports 265/35-20 Fr 325/25-20. OEM Coils dropped 6mm in front, none in rear. Only rubbing in rear inside fender liner stopped by a little fabrication/moving.
Detail Regimen:
Wash: Tires - P21s Total Auto Wash. Wheels - Dr. Beasley's Wheel Cleaner for Matte Wheels. Body - Dr. Beasley's Matte Body Wash.
Polish/Cleanser/Sealant - Matte Parts - Dr. Beasley's Matte Paint Cleanser followed by Matte Paint Sealant. Gloss Parts - Klasse All in One followed by Liquid Souveran.
Wheel Sealants - Gloss Black Lip - Klasse All in One. Matte Black Face - Dr. Beasley's Matte Wheel Sealant.
Tire Sealant - Eimann Fabrik Black Opal.
Some Thoughts:
1. Those wheels were a pain in the *** to clean/wax. But I loved every minute of that pain. Weird, but true.
2. Dr. Beasley's products are very easy to use. I was impressed and I am a serious detailer. I've used almost everything in my time - Klasse, Pinnacle, Wolfgant, Sonus, Meguiar's, Zaino - and this was very easy to use, well packaged, and performed as advertised. I was impressed.
3. The wheels are killer. Every person walking by loved them. They look so good after a wash and detail.
Enough talk here's the pics:

Which part of Skyline?
And finally a shout out to my buddy who's let me use his place's parking area for some photos over the past few weeks.

Dude, that car looks so mean. And those HREs are vicious! What tools are you using to apply these cleaners/agents?

I love that stretch. The very first meet I organized, we had 8 C63s, an E63, and an SL55 meet up in San Mateo. We took 92 to Hwy 1, and took La Honda back up Skyline.Originally Posted by neoprufrok

Yeah I love that drive. One problem is that people are a little too crazy. Then there are those that drive 10mph below the limit.Originally Posted by CoolBDPhenom03

I'll admit, I didn't look at my speedo once on that ride
But then again, I was pulling up the rear on our 11 car convoy.

Well, I let one of the "veteran" AMG owners lead since he knew the route and knew pull-off areas for regrouping. I figured I'd be a good caboose in Mars Red and all. He's done some track days and jokes about his E63 "Black Series". Story goes he tried to assemble an AMG meet at Laguna while they were testing their DTM car. He starting talking to the AMG engineers and Black Series guys. Apparently, the BS engineers listened to his criticisms of the C63 and proceeded to hand tune his car.

Sounds like an awesome guy - I need to meet him at some of our meets. Hope to make it to April 21, but I'm on call so we will see how it comes out.Originally Posted by CoolBDPhenom03

You should see his blinged out engine...gold foil. His avatar is a thermal pic of his engine bay.
It's possible the date will change, but I do my best to accommodate everyone. Is there a better weekend for you?

No not really - I'm pretty much always on call at the hospital. Once in awhile I have a weekend free. I'd just go ahead and plan and I'll see if I can show up.Originally Posted by CoolBDPhenom03

I did. I didn't like it so much. Left kind of a residue on the car after the wash, which was wierd. Dr. Beasley's wash was great - cascaded water off the car quickly so the side panels were almost all dry after I ran the water with an open hose. Originally Posted by 1st amg

Matte finish is hard to take care of though. Everything shows and things just don't slide off. Good thing its not my DD.
