I have the old version in my car. I just plugged it in with the cig port in the glove box and tucked the wires from the passenger a-pillar up to the windshield.

i have a DR380HD for sale. i will sell it for $200 shipped with a smart power box. i have the DR500GW installed. Its a very big unit compared to the DR380. I mean two D CELL BATTERIES compared to 2 C CELL BATTERIES. The main difference is GPS and WIFI. You play with it once or twice and after that you never use it again. I prefer the DR380HD over the DR500. Its much more basic and to the point as to why you put it in the car in the first place. GPS is used if you really want to get a route of where your car went but you should already know this if your the one who is driving it so its pointless unless its in a fleet vehicle. There is a slight lag over wifi and i get impatient waiting for it to catch up over wifi to review. This is why i would prefer the DR380HD over the DR500GW. I have both but ill sell the DR380HD becuase i already installed the DR500GW and dont feel like reversing it back.

where did you order the kit from? blackboxmycar? i believe you posted up a video about the process of wiring the cam and it was fairly straight forward even for someone who is not typically a DIY installer i'm kind of excited to get this thing. the valet guys at my building are having a little too much fun and i need a video to send to the office.

Yeah, I bought it from BBMC. No one else had one. I didn't post a vid, I think that was Alex, but I did make a thread with pics. Super easy. Just need a t- tap connector to splice into the wire. Works better than looping the wire around a fuse.
