I am already registered for the June Wannagofast event right here in Chicago. I do have a branch of the company I own in Atlanta but September and October are tight for me. When does registration for this event open? I will have to see if I can squeez it into my schedule.
That runway looks very narrow and dangerous

I did not see it, I was actuslly out on the west coast doing another 1/2 mile event when you posted this.
Is this a side by side two car event? Are my eyes tricking me or is that runway very narrow? What is the width? I had my car sideways at 100+ this weekend and so did the guy in the lane next to me that is the only reason I am concerned with the width.

I didn't measure the runway, but it's definitely not as wide as the one you were just at. I never felt unsafe, but I'm putting down 1/3 the power you are LOL

Here's a video from the banks up above that shows the width better...

Track is too narrow to run two wide at the speeds my CLK will be hitting, staging line runs parallel to race course less than 100 ft from cars going 150mph, left side runoff is not flat and crossover roads/taxiways have drainage pipes and will act as a ramp launching cars into the air, left side run off is not flat, right side has trees lining one side of the course less than 60 feet from race surface with no armco. Not sure how thay got insurance for this event but I am going to pass.

Thanks for the videos but I am going to pass. Here are my observations after checking out photos, your video and some others I found on YouTube.

Of all the cars there last year, only a handful crossed the 160 mark. Not that 160 is "worry free" but as mentioned, most cars are far down the track at that point.
I was shocked to see the allowance of spectators on the right side in the grass... I wouldn't be shocked to see that change.
Would've loved to see your beast make a run, but I understand about the concerns.

No worries. I agree with the trees comment, that made me wonder a bit last year... As for the staging lanes being close to the cars at vmax, in person it's not as bad because the cars that are racing are well past the staged cars by the time they hit 150. Also hard to see in the videos, there's a large bank of earth to the left that would protect any spectators. It looks shorter in the videos but it's a good 20-30' tall and it slopes up at a rake of ~60°.
