Hey guys, I have a quick question to ask someone with a C63 AMG. I'm currently looking to buy a Mercedes and its between a C63 AMG and a C350 4Matic. After test driving them I'm absolutely in love with the c63 but I have one concern. I live in Canada and it likes to snow in the winter, so would a C63 be fine in the winter or should I go for the 4Matic?
Thanks.
Thanks.

you make it sound like the c63 is allergic to the snow

proof more than one winter C63 exists (how many do you see btw?
)

the C63 is right at home in the snow

anyways, so basically if you drive like an ****, you will hurt yourself even in the dry summer. put good snow shoes on the car and practice caution. Winter driving the beast is another whole new experience. imo why go 2nd best and get the c350.

The 4matic would be better in the snow... But that doesn't mean the c63 can't drive in the snow.
I'm from upstate NY so I feel we share similar winters... I'd get the c63 and enjoy the hell out of it for 75% of the year and then the 25% that is winter just get a decent set of snow tires and baby it.
Or, get the c63 and another winter beater.

There are quite a few neighbors to the north on this board. They're generally pretty happy with their snow plows

short answer is c63.
long answer is that it's fine in the winter with some good snow tires.

my C63 handles snow very well in the san francisco bay area. j/k. like others say, i wont bother with a C350 and get a C63, snow or no snow.

C63 is fine in winter with winter tires. I drove mine every day this past winter with the exception of 2 days when the snow was simply too deep.
P.S. I know of a great 2012 coupe for sale that would include winter wheels and tires

Tires make ALL the difference in snow. I got stuck int he snow with my c6 and had a fresh set of kdw2's on the back, and although they were a performance summer tire since the tread was so deep and new it actually got me home pretty well. I was more than surprised.

I was seriously considering a C63 last year but ended up getting an S4 for the Quattro. AWD is a must for me. I live in the NYC area where it only snows hard one or two times a season. But there were two instances this past winter when I needed to drive in the snow and was thankful for all wheel drive - situations where a high-torque RWD car would have been rendered useless (or suicidal). The next gen C63 (probably available in 2015) will almost definitely be offered with AWD.

just buy a nice pair of snow tires...

On flats and blizzaks ok, but I was stranded on a fairly steep grade one night. Hard snow pack. Nerds in studded mini vans waved as they went on up the hill. Ugh.

4 matic doesnt means you won't get slip on icey road. good winter tires do the work..If you are carefully driving you should be fine. I drove my in the snow evey day. there are two and three days where it gets 15cm snow and I can still drove on the road with no problem. Just drive slowly and carefully.

The C63 does quite well in snow as long as you have an LSD installed. That helps a LOT and is a must, this coming from a guy who has driven 2 winters without LSD's in amg's and two with an LSD. I've never gotten stuck with the LSD. If it doesn't grip and go forward from a pocket it instead "Strafes" out of the pocket
