What am I doing wrong? Launch Control

I can't get launch control to work.

I can't get the knob to light up "RS" mode. I've tried with ESP off and it still won't select "RS"

Could it be that my car doesn't have it? I doubt it, it's a P31 package.

Any help?

traction control on sport, sport + setting, brake all the way down, turn the *** to "rs". Paddle up to confirm.. gas all the way down and there you go.

+1 also make sure the steering wheel is straight. but SPORT and S+ and Brake all the way down is key!

I had trouble at first as well. You're engined has to be warmed up to a certain temp as well before it will let you engage RS. Start out with tranction control on (ESP On). S+ mode engaged. Steering wheel needs to be completely straight. Use your left foot to press the break HARD and hold it. Turn ESP to ESP Sport. At this point the dial should turn from S+ -> M -> RS. It will ask you on the screen if you want to use Race Start mode, click the right paddle to confirm.

Now floor the gas, then let off the break when you want to launch and hold on tight.

Also, I think the car needs to be a on flat (no incline or decline) road.

I've done it a few times, and it's been a struggle every time so far for me too. Definitely not consistent enough for me to try at the drag-strip, ...........yet.

I've never had an issue getting it to go RS, once warmed up set ESP to sport handling mode, foot on the brake with decent pressure, spin the dial to RS (doesn't seem to matter what position I start from but usually S+ or M), paddle up to confirm, floor throttle, release brake and have fun lol

Never had problem to launch it too. But for those who have problems with your launch control don't get upset. I suggest you just forget about it as it's the most useless feature in C63, not sure about CLS63. It just doesn't work!!!

what kind of 60 foots are people seeing using this method? seems just trying to learn the fine line between breaking the tires lose/traction and bogging with the skinny pedal, is probably the best way to go.

Thanks guys, will try out the steps and report back!

I'm just curious to compare it with my previous E60 M5. On the M5, the throttle was carefully feathered to reduce wheelspin and maximize traction.

By the way, if I press the brake pedal too hard, the "hold" feature is activated. Is that okay?

I do not think you want the hold feature activated as this will probably not allow you to go to RS mode.
It is a bit finicky as I have tried it a few times but I think some of it is user error.

Make sure windows and sunroof are closed as well or it won't engage.

For some reason mine keeps canceling itself.

Follow every step and as soon as I let go of the brakes it cancels right away. Almost as if the car chokes. And when I try to redo it it keeps telling me 'not available' and I have to restart the vehicle every time I want to try it.

Could the tune have anything to do with it?

Gas must be floored, if you let off the gas even the slightest bit it will disengage. Are you making sure to confirm RS mode with the right paddle?

Yes. It tells me to depress the gas paddle. And I do so, it revs up to 4k and as soon as I let go the brakes it cancels.

Hmm, once activated, are you holding the revs too long? It has a max timer something like 5 seconds. Maybe try a different location/pavement/road or try the TCU reset. It could be you are doing everything right but it's just a software issue. If nothing else, have the dealer take a look.

I know there is a timer and I let go of brakes within a sec or two. I have tried it many times on different pavements. My guess is that it has to do with the tune. Oh well.

Figured it out and it's very easy to do. But apparently nobody explains that you have to smash the throttle until it CLICKS and hold it there and let go of the brakes. If the throttle paddle does not click it is not going to work.
