No they aren't. Take it from someone who experienced both cars. Get a Used, in super condition, SLS. I am going to convert my whole drivetrain to the new BS drivetrain and sell my current setting. Send me a PM. I'll tell you all about it, if I can get three SLS owners, I can get good pricing.

Audi R8 V10? I've seen some great deals on these recently. What about a P-Car, you won't have the large torquey V8, but pretty easy to strip and track prep.
Though I do love the idea of you picking up an SLS and giving it the "Dads" works

Very sorry to read about your incident.
I 2nd the 991 GT3 idea (it will come with Porsche tax but not too bad of a starting point in stock form).
Here is how I would make the order if I were to get a car that you described knowing performance and mod'ability in important to you:
1- Viper ACR (G4)
2- C63BS
3- I know you didn't mention this brand but, E92/E90 M3 DCT + ESS/VF Supercharger - This is a proven track car - Extremely rewarding!
4- 991 GT3
5- 997 GT3 RS
6- 997 GT2 RS or a GT2
7- Used SLS
8- R8 V10
Good luck!

NOOOO!!! such a beast of a build
... but things can be replaced.. the good thing is that nobody got hurt (physically).
whatever your next project is, i bet it'll be (another) beast..

I would second the used 430, especially if you are going to track the car. They dont have the low end torque of the Viper, but really come alive on a "wide open" track. The only issue is whether you are prepared to deal with the costs of tracking a Ferrari. 430's can be had in the 120k-150k, Scuderias at 150k-170k. The superfast F1 Shifting of the scuderia is possibly the best assisted transmission that Ferrari had ever made, as it is super fast but still gives you a sporty kick, unlike the sometimes critiqued "too smooth" dual clutch on the California and 458 Italia. The scuderia is as fast as an Enzo on Fiorano and Nurburgring, at a fraction of the price. A true bargain at this time.

I'm glad you're okay and I'm glad you're already planning for a good upgrade. Whatever beast you get next, I know you'll make it world famous too.
I'd say get a used SLS, stick with benz bro
I'm sure you'll come up with a BS conversion for it later on.. LoL

I would not worry about the quality of the Viper, especially if you get a 2014 one, my understanding is that the fit and finish is night and day from the previous generation.. and talk about a monster of an engine..

Wow! So sorry to read about this. As car enthusiasts we form a bond with our cars and when something like this happens it's heart breaking. I wish you luck my friend and I hope you decide to build it again, better than ever.
