Dads C63 got crashed :-(
Yea, you read it right.
I haven’t posted anything on the forums yet because I’m not sure what to say other than I wrecked my car yesterday on the way to work. The insurance adjuster will we by sometime in the next day or so but it doesn’t look good. I am physically fine but mentally I am embarrassed, frustrated, and angry with myself. It was a combination of too much power on street tires, poor judgment on my behalf, and wet pavement. I was all by myself in morning traffic and began to accelerate rounding a long sweeping right hand bend that you can see in the background of the first picture in a four lane divided highway. I was not street racing or even had that thought in my mind. I was simply on the way to work. When I accelerated the car downshifted lower than anticipated and the back end came out and I couldn’t recover. Fortunately, everyone around me recognized immediately what was going on and slowed down. The flow of traffic was only going about 70-75mph. After multiple attempts to gather her back up I made contact with the guard rail and she bounced off the right front, spun around and got the right rear. I figured if she ever got wrecked it would be on a track somewhere at a high rate of speed, not on the way to work minding my own business. Well I said it and sadly enough I have pics below.
Now I'm gonna go beat myself up some more.
PS: We are going to try to fix her!!

Glad you're ok but holy !!
MBWorlds R&D car is ruined. All that hard work. You think your insurance will cover all if not most of that? I mean the amount of work(BS body parts, etc...) that went into that car.
Sorry to hear Keith. New project in the horizon maybe?

when you emailed me these pics yesterday , i was absolutely shocked
hopefully they fix this monster.....but if they don't , you can start looking at the new project we discussed a little while back
worst car scenario , i'm sure there are plenty of parts you can sell off the BS to get the other project going

OUCH OUCH OUCH!!!!
That was extremely hard to look at! I've always admired that car and looked forward to everything you did to it!
In the end though you are okay and that's all that really matters.
Here's hoping and praying everything works out ok.

NOT going to abandon the car.
I've had a couple of long conversations with my insurance company and if at all possible she will get fixed.
They have asked for all the receipts for the recent body work and carbon fiber brake conversion. I hope thats a good sign. Unless the repairs are nuts I will get her fixed. Believe it or not I'm in the middle of more upgrade plans.

my wife bananas! :D
glad you are ok.
always look at things half full. now you have a lot of modding potentials ahead of you. if insurance kicks in and helps out, you dont have to go through the hassle of parting pieces out to offset new mod costs

so sorry about your loss, i remember when i had the most modded m3, and it was tottaled over a stupid accident (not my fault). Is it safe to say you turned off traction or was it in sport. Even in Sport the car gets sideways so i wonder if its possible that you were in sport?
