Very Newb Tuning Question (sorry in advance)
So for the personal tuner that comes from Dimsport says to connect the car to a battery stabilizer. Is this sufficient for the context of just flashing the ECU http://www.pepboys.com/product/details/664372/525/ ? If this is not the correct type of item could someone please point me in the correct direction.

I can't answer your question but I will tell you not to buy that B&D charger - it is a piece of crap. I bought one for the gf's car and it failed in a week. I have 3 Battery Tenders, two of which are connected 24/7 and still going strong after 10 years.

I don't think that's necessary, but I'll also vouch for the Battery Tender brand. Hooked up 24/7 to my Ducati for the past 2.5 yrs.

I don't use any power source when I reflash mine. I just make sure that I have recently driven long enough to have a full charge on the battery. It takes maybe 2 minutes to do. Someone else chime in and tell me if I'm a moron...

just make sure your battery has a good amount of charge take it for a 20 min. drive first thats all i do.

You won't need it...I have the same dim sport...no issues...just make sure you follow sequence exactly....if you have touch start...remove and use your regular key to go through sequence. The fan will turn on on its own when new map is writing so don't freak out...flashing the car was easier than transferring the files to the flash device for me at least...now takes me 5 minutes to flash without issue. Enjoy

id unplug the fan while you do the update, it will draw 30-40amps and make the voltage low pretty quick. some of these cars are 08's and the batteries are getting weaker.
