2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe' '99' Audi A4 Avant Quattro 2.8 DD
The W205 will have "at least" 30-40 more hp than the W204 & pretty sure it'll have 4 matic. I welcome 4 matic. I love how we are capable of having the rears of the W204 cut loose at will & I'll miss that when i get the W205 but I'd rather have a better handling car....safer & faster on corners.

I suspect that base hp figures will be inline with the PP on the W204. The W205 PP will be equal or greater than the 507/BS figures. Torque will be up across the board.

No. I did not say googling made it official. There is no mention of googling in that post. But based on natural evolution of next gen cars hp/trq figures my speculation seems to consistent with industry trends.
As for the post where I did mention google. There is enough "insider" rumours and AMG leaked info to support the fact that the drive train layout will indeed be AWD with a 4.0TT. If you have a vast majority of publications eluding to or flatout claiming the above, wouldn't it stand to reason that, that is what is coming for the W205?

2015 E63S
The new AWD setup in the current E63 only added 154 pounds to the car with a fixed torque split. That's less weight than what Quattro adds to Audis or xDraive adds to BMW's. You cant seriously say adding the equivalent of a "Fat" driver to the car, with the benefits of 4 wheel grip, is going to hamper performance and agility!? im pretty sure Air conditioning, leather heated seats, navigation, sunroofs, 19" rims, and all the other toys adds a bit more weight to these "luxury cars" than the offset of having AWD!?...

I wouldn't be too concerned about loosing out on the top end unless I had access to the Autobahn for my morning commute.
Now real world driving... AWD and 0-60 FTW!!!!

I don't know anything "official" with respect to the engine, but all "opinions/rumours" seem to be firming for a 4LV8TT do they not.
However, I do seem to remember a very senior M.B. person confirming some time ago that the "new" C63 would NOT be AWD?
Cheers, Pickles.

But I remember a MB executive stating that the "new" C63 would not be in AWD, "because it didn't need to be"?
Time will tell. Pickles.

I think it almost certain that the new AMG C will not get the 5.5TT. Benz won't make the same mistake twice and offer the same motor thats in the $60K C as the $150K S AMG
There will be a clear delineation. You want big power.....you pay $90K+ and get the 5.5TT in the E/CLS/S/S Coupe/GL/G
You want quick agile performer....you pay $60K+ and get the 4.0TT
Everything in this thread is specualtion, except for some of the spy shots

I agree, I don't think they will or risk competing against themselves somewhat. They have to make a clear separation between the two models and engine is one of them.
I was also thinking about the screen, and remember my 2010 C300 having that pop out screen which they put in the dash in my 2012. I have a feeling if they get the thumbs down from the public, they will do the same here. 2nd and 3rd gen of the new model is the one to get. Let them use the first one as a test to figure out what people like and dislike

I read somewhere (wish I could find the link) that even the 5.5 is short term. The current models that have it will be getting smaller turbo engines in the future. I suspect it will be the 4.0tt. Considering the 4.0tt rumoered capabilities, it is foreseeable.

I doubt it...guaranteed they will release the shots and details early in the year, right after the release of the W205. They're not going to wait a 1.5-2 years to launch the new C63, especially when the new M3/M4 will hit this fall. They haven't staggered AMG launches in a very long time. As soon as the new model is available, the AMG version is right there. I saw the 2014 S63 way before I ever saw an S550 on the road.
I read that as well. It kinda makes sense since Audi is having great results with the 4.0L TT in the S8 and BMW has the 4.4L TT. But it also gives AMG a competitive advantage in terms of displacement. The alternative to a smaller displacement, is a transmission with more gears, that keeps the car lower in the powerband, longer, conserving more fuel. The new E and CLS will be getting a new 9SPD and I'm sure AMG is probably working on a performance variant of an 8SPD
