Yes much better in my opinion....feels a lot stiffer and steering response sharper especially on turn ins. I wish they had a rear section which didnt cost an arm and a leg....right now I am only seeing Renntech have the rear portion. My front is from Smerc Engineering

W204 C63 Coupe, W166 ML350 BlueTEC, 928GT, C5 Z06 & IS300 race cars, EQE 4Matic+ on order
Sent SMERC an email a week ago asking whether the brace fits the face-lifted coupe and still haven't received a reply of any sort (their web site lists the W204 only up to 2011). Doesn't look well for them. If they can't be bothered to answer a simple question from a prospective client, then chances are they're just as good at dealing with other issues. Besides, their brace with what look like "length" adjustment bolts visible from the top doesn't look like it would do very much in terms of stiffening up the front. The renntech is a much better design but costs proportionately more.
On the other hand, I think the C63 has a dual firewall so the front end of the chassis is probably fairly stiff already. Unless you're going to track the car, chances are it won't do much other than make your engine bay look meaner and add a little bit of weight. Haven't tracked mine yet (I use the P-car for that) but I do intend to take it out once just to see how it handles.

That's a SMERC on Barry's car? I recall looking at it at the last meet at Intek but I don't think it looked anything like the SMERC design. The other BS also had one IIRC but it was a CF Renntech.

Had my SMERC installed last month on my BS...definitely a noticeable different in straight line braking stability...before had a bit of a issue of the car jumping around coming down from anything above 125-130mph. No more issue now.

Thanks guys - I guess that also means that it fits the face-lifted coupe. Now if I could only get SMERC to reply to my email (I resent it earlier).
Barry - did you order directly from SMERC? Do you by any chance know of a local distributor/shop that carries them?

I posted a few months ago I think that smerc engineering was producing the bar on a limited basis only. Yuta was my contact there....email is contact@smercengineering.com I think. They may not have it on hand...I got mine within a month as they had to make them. I would email them...if you paid via paypal on their site they will return your money and say they don't have it in stock.
Yes the c63 should have come with this kind of bar from the start. I agree with the tight feeling....imagine running the rear tower bars especially with launches and cornering....

Just ordered one directly from SMERC (thanks SROC - Yuta replied right away so I guess the previous email somehow got lost). They are currently backordered and should be shipping in about 3-4 weeks.

Sounds good...yes I think they make them as them come. Maybe we should all attempt to get them to make the rear bar as I think only Renntech has them right now....Yuta didnt think they would but we could always ask. Front and rear would be ideal....better than having a rollcage or race prepped welds on the chassy....hehe

Would there be any difference between the Renntech and the SMERC front strut brace besides the cosmetics (ie. CF)? If functionality is the same for both then I think I might consider the SMERC one since it's significantly less expensive.

I was initially concerned because on the main picture on the SMERC site the area just past the adjustments screws isn't shown (on the far end it looked like just two short little tabs to the chassis, but on the third photo on the right (once I realized you can click on it to enlarge it) you can see they extend all the way across the tower mounts and are welded in several places, so it is likely going to be as stiff as any other.
And, if you pre-order the SMERC one now you may get an additional 10% off like I did. Send and email to Yuta at the address that SROC posted earlier.
