BE by Breyton

So I was browsing tirerack and some crazy deals on BE by Breyton rims. Since they are priced so reasonably I started thinking that maybe I should pick up a set. I would most likely run them in winters and run the stock 19" mulstispoke Benz rims in the summer.

But the price also got me wondering why they were so cheap. Any one has any experience with these? Is there are a reason they are so cheap? Should I pick up a set or stay away?

Thanks!

Breyton is a very good company, the reason why they are priced low is because they are discontinuing their brand I heard.

So it's not a bad idea to go with them then? I do like a particular style they have and like I said in winter it wouldn't be a bad idea. And if they aren't necessarily bad I might run them in summer and the stock ones in winter?

Thanks. I might pick up a set then and I can look for winter tires for it locally. No some opinions as to which one's to go with.

Option 1

Option 2

I am also wondering if you guys have TPMS for your aftermarket sets? If not, are there any warning signs, error codes or lights?

Thanks!

I am leaning towards options 1 at the moment too. I like black colored rims as I've owend matte black one's before for my other cars. And at just over 1K shipped to me, price is definitely hard to beat. I will be needing winter tires and TPMS after this but for a set of winter rims, I don't want to spend too much.

I like the look of the stock 19" multispoke p31 package cars come with so I will just keep those for the summer. Can anyone answer my TPMS question? Do you guys with after market sets have them? If not, any errors/issues?

Thanks!

Are the offsets good if you get H&R springs?

I had looked at these but discounted them as the offset for rear is +45 on 19 x 9.5.

I'm not good with the offset term. Is that good or bad?

It's bad..19x9.5 + 45 is very aggressive for our cars. We need +50 unless u run stretched tires.

As for TPMS, Canadians cars don't have tpms, only built in sensor in the abs system. But it should be easy to buy new ones at the dealership & have them re-programmed.

Yea that's the offset of those rims. It sounds like that is NOT good for our cars then? Are you guys indicating that I should NOT go for them?

So for TPMS, we don't need that at all when we change rims or anything? That saves a couple hundred dollars!

So guys I am confused now...should I not be getting those wheels then? They do have the 45 offset...I have no idea what that means if that's a bad thing or a good thing?

The winter tire package that shows up with those rims is 235/35R19 and these are Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D. The rims front is 19x8.5 and rear is 19x9.5. What sort of tires can I fit on these? Will my current stock tires that are on the 19" multi spoke rim fit?

I am not sure yet as to which rim I want to be running in the summer and which one in the winter. Thanks for the help guys.

If you are running a square tire set up, I would say use 19x8.5 or 19x8 all round. 235 on 9.5 will be pretty stretched (less rim protection, doesnt look good) Not sure about 45 offset fitting but I think if you do less width and same offset it should fit? (ask Roswell he is the wheel expert lol)...but i think i've seen people fit 45 offset bbs wheels on C63 before...

also for winter narrower is better (for snow)...so if you do alot of snow driving maybe go to 225. I have 235 now and its fine but it does get tricky when its more than a coating.

U can buy them, as u can see they fit our cars from the link I posted. The offset is a bit low which means they will be very flush in the rear.. But if u run 255/30/19 u won't rub even lowered. 265/30/19 at stock height might work. 235/30/19 is what most ppl runs in the winter, but it will be stretched on a 19x9.5.

As for which sets to use in winter, it's really about ur preference.

If they offer them in 18, go with that. For winter tires, you want skinnier, 225 or 235's. Smaller surface area to cut into the snow. 19" tires in a 255 or 265 you end up compressing the snow and riding on top.. that is bad.

They don't have any rim choice for 18". That's the problem.

What is the size of the stock 19" multi spoke rims? I have those on my car currently and if the winter tires I mentioned (235/35R19) will fit better on those, I can always install the winter on the stock rims and the tires that are on the stock rims right now can go on those Breyton rims for the summer?

I have to check the size of the current set up, I haven't seen what it is.

Good idea... the winter tires 235/35/19 will fit better on the OEM 19's.

Our OEM 19's are 19x8 +45mm front & 19x9 +54mm rear. So .5inch norrower than the Breyton.

You can use the stock tires on ur Breyton for summer no problem. 235/35/19f & 255/30/19r.

Smiles,
Meng

Sorry I keep bothering you but just a noob at this stuff.

Do I also need to purchase the TPMS for the new rims?

So if I wanted to save money and not bother with a new rim set and just get the tires, I am assuming that I can just order the tires and replace them when winter comes using the same TPMS and everything? Then the only thing is that I will be replacing the tires on the same rim back and forth but can use same TPMS and all that? That way I would save the cost of new rims and TPMS?

I am not really big on aftermarket rims to be honest and quite like the ones that are on the car (OEM 19" Multi Spoke). So the only hassle would be that I would be paying for removing and installing tires and balancing them every change of season?
