Powertrain Intake manifold tuning valve stuck open.

That's the fault code. No lights on my dash. Only found it through torque app. Scantool app didn't read it. Car drives fine. What do?

There are actuators on the intake that direct the air when the engine is at low rpm and then changes the flow to shorter more direct injection of the air mass at high rpm's.
These should be checked, apparently I have seen on this forum where the plastic rods break or become stuck, careful these are fragile, this could be your issue.
Worth a look.

Remove the cover with the Benz circle on it, the actuators are under the cover, close to the oil filter housing.

There is a vacuum controlled arm thst opens the flays on the side of the manifold. Move the arm back and forth, its under spring tension.

It should have a consistent movement/pressure.

I would not recommending mechanical movement of the arm, use a source of vacuum to make the arm move. Possible diaphragm in the actuator is ruptured or unit is stuck.

Thanks for the help. What are the consequences of this fault? It could be like this for thousands of miles prior. Only found out because I bought a reader. I'll just have it checked by the dealer.

Ps. I also tried clearing the code when engine was running. Was that bad? Should I clear codes only when it's off? Torque app didn't warn me. When I tried it afteron scantool and it warned me to turnoff engine before clearing.

I would just check that the actuator and arm is working with a source of vacuum, then leave it alone after this test. If the car is pulling good at low speed as well as high rpm then all is well.

yes engine off, key in first position to energize the reader.

Sounds like you are good to go, drive it for a while and then recheck for any info on your reader. It's nice when an issue turns into a non-issue.
