I am headed up to Autoscope now. I'll get back with better details later on. I went up there for brake fluid, belt change and idler pulley change. Planned on going to Eagle Canyon tomorrow but my interior isn't back yet so no racing.
Had them check DR fitment and that is the call I just got. Going to verify this afternoon sometime. ?? We'll see, maybe my car setup on H&R springs?

I mean... you wouldn't want to go offroading in them or do 30 over a speed bump, but I can't imagine them being so wide and tall as to rub while drag racing. Surprising from a shop like autoscope, but then again they may not have too many visitors that do drag racing and may be "Discount Tire-ing" the fitment. They tried that on JumpingJim when he had them mount radials on the CLS, until he explained what they were for. Just thinking out loud, obviously if they're actually too big, then, well..

Oh, is your car lowered? I can't remember noticing it that day at Dallas Raceway, but that could Definitely be a factor. Still though, if running same size wheel and close to same sidewall or even less on the DRs, I don't see it being an issue. Looking forward to hearing back on this.

Yeah those are the spec the wheel shop gave for the C63C. They said they've done several setups with those wheels. There's also pics on here of C63 with those wheels so they do fit. The tires are very close to stock wheel height, the DRs being 0.2 inches taller in diameter and 0.1 inches narrower and were recommended by a tuner for an 18" wheel setup on a C63C. Unless they sent you the wrong wheel I think Autoscope may not know what they're talking about.

I'm thinking the same JJ which REALLY concerns me about trusting the workmanship as well. Sorry but I am extremely picky about my vehicle maintenance to say the least. I may or may not get there in time today. Hoping to so I can check at home on my own.

oh it's lowered... hmmm... that could be a factor... and the DRs... but many have also put DRs on oem and aftermarket wheels... they just may not realize it's for drag racing only...

keep us posted

Yeah, too tall alone makes no sense unless your car is so slammed you're shaving tread off on every bump. Also make sure they're not putting 50 psi of air in them or something stupid so they're blown up like balloons. DRs don't like high pressure. I run 28 in mine on the street.

Took my car to Discount Tire today to retry the fitment, remember Autoscope told me they don't fit, they won't even clear the fender well to install. Okay well today they fit Buejae's old car just fine. There is little clearance but appears to be good. I don't know how much the car will squat on launch. Guess we will seat the track!

They fit his but not yours or were you just saying what autoscope said and they do fit yours? Bizarre either way. Shouldn't squat too much. Drive them around on the street a while and you'll know. Just be careful, you might not want to take them off.

Yea that's correct and very bizarre, my car was his car in a previous life! We met by random chance last night at a Ricekillers GTG in Plano. After some forensic research on the music register it has been discovered that my 2009 car was originally owned by Bluejae.
SO bottom line...the damn tires fit.

Ah, interesting. Reunited at last. I knew they would fit, makes you wonder if autoscope even tried to put them on.

Sorry I truly hate to say it but I wonder as well JumpinJim. I don't have a lot of confidence in them after this. Probably just set the tire against the car and decided visually that it doesn't fit? Too bad, nothing nice to say so I'll shut up.

I will start another thread Drag Racing DFW. There is an insane diesel truck that rolled out last night from Thailand at Ricekillers meet. I mean crazy sub 8, 1/4 mile Thai built machine. It will be running for the first time on US soil Thursday in Denton at 1/8th mile track.
