2014 C63 507 Coupe
Any specific reason for the change? What are the most noticeable differences between the two? I've debated upgrading to a 2012+ but just don't see enough difference between the older and newer gens

The big difference is the interior updated then you have the tranmission MCT vs 7g on 09. Finally you have the headbolt issue fixed with 2012+ MY. IMO that is enough to say the move from 09 to 2012 is a nice upgrade.

There's also a noticeable improvement in handling feel between the pre and post facelift cars. The latter has a much sharper feel to it. Really noticeable if you get a chance to try both back to back.

2012 c63 coupe
My big issue was the head bolts at the end of the day, going to be purchasing a supercharger over the winter and it was either build the 09 engine (arp studs, sls valve buckets, and new internals) or upgrade. Drove the 2012 and was rather impressed with everything from the interior design, to how it drove. It being a coupe was also a plus.
Looking forward to getting it, and having it all ready for next summer

I realize those changes were made but I guess with newest generation coming out (which is a full re-design), imo I just don't see a huge difference between 09 to 12. That very well may change if I get to a dealer and test drive one though hahah,
Congrats to the OP btw.

Congrats OP! You know some well known SC vendors would have fixed your headbolt issue IMO . This was just a good excuse to change car
