I want to build a monster in a corvette

I have a top-end built C6 Z06 that I'm getting ready to boost myself. Regardless of what model you go with, they are also super fun cars to build and it's so much cheaper to do so than the Benz

Hate to see you go but the Corvette is a great platform for where you want to go. GL!

How come you are selling so relatively soon after completing build? Was it not as per your expectations?

it was much more than I expected

the group of guys I hang around with have all upgraded from their M3s and M5s and bought a bunch of GTRs . my car was at the top of the list for the quickest cars in the group but now a few of them are doing major upgrdes so it's time to get more power and drop the weight significantly . i'm not a huge fan of the GTR , even though it can be a complete animal . they are nice to look at but I could never picture myself owning one . I have always been a big corvette fan and this will give me the opportunity to build a bigger monster than my C63

A 1000+hp GTR would've been sweet though :P. They are really easy to tune up as well (friend's dad has one getting 900+, said it didn't break the bank either).

Are you getting a ZR1, Z06, or what?

didn't break the bank ??? a used GTR is going for $80k+ stock . add on big mods and you are well into the $100k range .

i'm going to buy a used C6 for around $30k and add on another $30k-ish and make 7xxwhp in a car that's built to handle some abuse no matter where i'm at . that price also includes a fully built tranny , lots of engine upgrades , Procharger , lots of cooling upgrades due to the Texas heat and all the labor

I know I won't be the fastest on earth but it will be quick enough with 7xxwhp in a car that's pretty light weight to start . of course I will be doing some other light weight mods for additional help . it will be a darn good starting point and will only cost me roughly the selling price of the AMG .

80k??? His was 65 with 20k miles and has maybe 30 invested.

I guess the C6 will still be far cheaper though. I was thinking you were getting a ZR1 thats already making 600.

You should find a good used R8(V10) and put the TT system on it and then you can run with the big guys. :-)) AWD plus 900+HP would be fun!!
