Has anyone heard of an automotive window technology that allows the user to tint windows at the flick of a switch?

I believe it exists, but as a household window product. I forgot what it was called, but I imagine the if it was made for automotive purposes, you'll need to replace the windows.

The technology exists, I know a guy that had this done on his Porsche Panamera. It was super expensive and IMO the clarity you need is not there.

ya looks like the same stuff in the maybach and magic sky option on slk's and sl's which is like 4-5k$ it requires 120v power converters and alot of other components not to mention its usually only used on fixed windows so even more problems with moving parts.

I know you're trying to avoid getting tint tickets. A much cheaper way is to go to the doctor and say you get a headache from the sun. You'll get a prescription. Google it

I thought most states have legalized window tint, no? They passed it in IL about 2 years ago and at that time there were only a handful of states that it was still illegal in.

Not in NYC. I'm getting pulled over every week for tints. Lol

6 tint tickets WTF??? Did they write you one for each window??? That's nuts...worse than the Chicago cops. The city of Chicago fought the law being changed and even changed the city ordinance so tints were still illegal in the city limits, last I heard they were being sued over it becasue the way the law is written here in IL is that wherever the vehicle is registered their equipment laws become valid. Meaning I live out in the burbs but if I drive into the city with tints the city could still ticket me but the law says that's illegal since where I live and the vehicle resides and is registered the tints are legal, I guess you could call it a grandfather law. A few years ago the city of Chicago was writing no front plate tickets to out of state visitors whose states do not require or even provide front plates

Rear and back seat windows are illegal in NYC??? WTF? Every SUV that comes fromt he factory comes with the rear winsheild and rear seat windows tinted from the factory, how can NYC enforce that law??? What a bunch of crooks!

Not sure, most SUVs have rear windows tinted. I think this cop was just mad that he couldn't nail me so he decided to punish me in his own way

hahaha, impressive ticket!

The doctor's note work around has worked for ages, I'm so happy the police in Arizona aren't like most other states. I was bugged about my car in Cali and Washington when I lived in those states but in Arizona I haven't gotten one ticket.

Wrong...I tried this...I have sensitive skin to the sun because I work from home on the computer and I'm inside 90% of the day...I had a doctors note etc etc..cops and driving place basically told me nope..even if you have cancer you can just wear sunglasses - atleast this is how it is in canada

In Florida, you can pretty much hang black curtains in your car and you wont get a ticket unless some cop is really having a bad day.
