I want to buy a stock C63, but..
Hey guys,
I have a question.. why the hell in my country the C63 is so expensive? I really have passion towards that car, but I couldn't afford it! I ended up with a c350, which did cost me 73,000 US. dollars. The C63 2014 is for 109,000 US dollars. Like its unbelievable! I see lots of people here buying a C63 is like something normal! How much do you get your C63'S in the states? Why is it so much expensive here than there! What is the suggested solution.

Oh mate stop mourning. It costs more here in NZ brandnew! Could easily get a decent boat for that price... Luckily 2nd imports are not too bad but still dearer than the US! Time to goto NA!

No this is incorrect the C63 base model is $155k, the 507 is $188k. This is in Australian dollars, at the moment the USD is worth more than the Australian dollar it works out to be

Based on my original numbers it should have been C350 for USD$90k and C63 for USD$160k but in saying that I am not going to argue over $10k or so, but in the end we get ripped here.
I ordered an SLK350 last week, metallic paint, Keyless Go and AMG Sports Package. Cost $130k here, just built it on the MB USA site, was USD$62,445 (AUD$70k), not sure where the other $60k went....

Ouch how much are the NZ Prices? There are only a few select countries in the world which have higher car costs. I wouldn't mind moving to most parts of Europe either if NA was full =(

My bad with the conversion, I converted it the wrong way, and added 10% rather than removed 10%.

Considering average wage here is only 65% of aussies n personally tax wise is almost double the amount of aussies, plus NZD is about 80% value of AUD, a regular brandnew C63 costs 40% more at least... Ouch!

Taxes, Shipping costs, and Supply and demand all play a role.
US Market takes in such supply of the vehicles, the economies of scale allow them to get them here for a cheaper price, our import tax (VAT) isn't as harsh.
Gas is a perfect example. I believe the US Market is the cheapest in the world for gasoline (besides Mexico).
