These "Illuminated Stars" aren't quite as exclusive as Mr. Vetter described.
My local MB dealer has them in stock right now. And they will fit a variety of models . . . including a 2008 W204 standard C Class.
I don't understand why he said that they were rolling out initially with the 2014 CLA.
The product has been available for several months now.

jrcart, to be fair you did say they weren't an OEM MB part and my local dealer installed some ebay junk. You (or Vetter) did display a lack of knowledge...

when I got my '13 coupe last year these weren't out yet, videos didn't start surfacing till I got my GLK several months later and I've been dying to see one in person before I purchase.

The illuminated star package should come with a white fedora, white sunglasses and a white belt. Maybe a Justin Bieber tshirt, too. They could put little rhinestone AMG logos on the belt and sides of the glasses.
Honestly, if you're going to put light up stuff on your car, expect to catch crap from other car guys. Just how it works, been doing this a long time.
I'm relatively new to the world of Mercedes, I've had plenty of other cars - the C63 AMG 507 is the first Merc that's blown me away. Seriously awesome car. Well, that and the SLS... I'd love to have an SLS, I just don't have that kind of coin laying around for a car.

My initial thoughts when I first saw the Mercedes-Benz marketing materials relating to the illuminated star, was that it was a silly accessory.
However I did see and E class and a CLA with the illuminated star on the road it's very subtle yet catches your eye it fades out towards the points on the star which looks pretty cool and in motion at night it's barely noticeablebut that hint of light is there and it's pretty damn cool I must say. I wouldn't mind trying it out just to see what it looks like.
But then again it's nearly a $400 accessory.
