bluetooth audio issues
Hey
So I bought a 2010 C63 yesterday and am loving it. The only issue I have is that I have no way of seemingly connecting my iphone to the car speakers. I've been searching long on the forums and just can't find anything. I don't have an AUX port and the bluetooth audio in the engineering menu is not available. I just called the MB dealership and they told me they updated my COMMAND to the latest version not long ago.
Does anyone have any idea of what I am doing wrong?
These are the instructions I followed:

This is what is available in my engineering menu

If you are trying to use Bluetooth to send music thru the sound system on a 2010... you can't. Only way is to hard hook-up thru either the aux cable or media interface cable. Bluetooth streaming was not added to C Class until model year 2012.

Thanks for the info, thats definitely a bummer. Would you happen to know if the cars all come with the AUX cables because I cannot seem to find mine. I just find it odd that I seem to have every other option except what seems to be a basic (and awesome) iPhone hookup.

i have the ipod integration option in my 09. the cables are in the glovebox, the ipod integration box itself is mounted in the little area behind the panel on the right side of the dash (in mine). pop that baby open and see if the cables are in there. also, do you see a hole on the righthand side of the inside of the glove box? anyway, i bought a "tune2air" bluetooth adapter and connected it to the ipod integration cable. now my iphone connects to it via bluetooth, and all the info shows up on in the instrument cluster and i can control it with the steering wheel buttons.

I've seen people's pictures with a white Aux input cable in the glovebox. Instead I have a black plastic cover that covers the hole. If I remove it there is nothing. I suppose I should remove the trim from the right hand side of the glove box on the passenger side to check for Aux input?

looks like you don't have the iPod integration option, unless it's mounted elsewhere for some reason, but considering there are no cables and the hole has a plug in it, I'd think it's the former. maybe the previous owner was an android user. was it advertised as having it? do you have the window sticker?

No I dont recall honestly. I just assumed a car that originally costs this much brand new just a few years ago would at least have what seems to be a fairly basic option
Oh well, I'll stop driving myself crazy and just get a quote for the AUX installation. Thank you very much for the input!

Wow, so I called an AD and they said it would probably be over (a few) THOUSAND dollars to install an AUX cable. Is this for real? I have the COMAND interface and I assume the wires are just tucked away somewhere in the back of the trim.

The pic you uploaded is how all cars look. There is a rectangular cut-out under the roof of the glove box that's near the left side and back away from the front edge an inch or two. If you have the media interface kit, there would be a female receptacle there to receive the pig tail that has an aux and iPhone port. I gotta believe there's a receptacle for the media kit. You will need top remove the box.
There's a write-up on this site that details how to R&R the box.
Let mw know if you need other assistance.

Joe

I found the write-up you posted

Seems straight forward. I will try, but do ALL C63's have the AUX hookup ability? I dont mind not having the iPod USB. As long as theres a way to listen to the music over stereo I'm happy.
Thanks in advance

Yes, and probably. If you can post me your VIN number, I will run a datacard on it to determine what it had from factory, and what the correct cable would be.

Well I just realized you have a Canadian car. My Datacard and yours are virtually identical and you have the same Command and audio set up as I do. But when I go to the interface cables section of MB EPC site for your car, the part shown with the twin Aux and iPhone adaptors indicates it's not applicable to your vehicle, but is the one for mine. There is no dual Aux/iPhone shown on the site for your car. However, when I search the cable I have, it does show used on Model 204077 for North America.
The part I have that works is A 001 827 84 04. $55.00 in U.S.
Also, the part you asked about (001-827-85-04), is not applicable to any W204 vehicle.
If I were you, a call to the dealer would be next. If there is no part available, perhaps they'll let you order the A 001 827 84 04 and return if it doesn't work.
Regards,
Joe

I have a 2010 Canadian C63 with media interface (full Command Package- Premium Package) and it has three cables in the glove box. The part # on the package is 001 827 82 04 for iPod/Phone, USB and AUX connections. The connection in my car is on the top of the glove box as well.

Thank you all for the replies. This definitely made my day! Will check out the dealership this week and post updates to hopefully help out anyone else who may have this issue.

Once you find out that the cable you need is black, look up media interface plus in this forum.

Ok so the cable lets you wire your iPhone to the car. Mip (the box) lets you stream music from iPhone via Bluetooth. The convenience of not having to take phone out of your pocket! Caution: mip is a bit glitchy.
Mip is standard mb solution since 2010. There are aftermarket alternatives now, but I can't help you there.

Ok thank you, that clears it all up. Its annoying I called up the dealer and said my car came standard with the Media Interface and cables. I guess someone took the cables out of the car while it was for sale. At least now I know what to do. Thanks!
