I think it would be helpful to change the title of the thread to "Updated Head Bolt Affected VIN Range Data - All 2010 and earlier are affected, some 2011"

Or at least put it in big bold letters in the first post.

Done, but not showing up as changed.

Is there somewhere else I need to change besides first post, or does an Admin need to do it?

I'm not sure, but I'd assume that if you did it and it isn't showing up a higher level member like mod or administrator must have to do it.

Does anyone know the beginning engine number for the problem and is there any possibility that there are some built before the failure issue? My VIN is WDBTK77GX7T081194 and the engine number is 156982 60 007600.

The beginning number is not really relevant. All M156 from the first through the cutoff are affected. As such, yours is in the affected group.

Regards,

Joe

The title clearly states that all C63s 2010 and older are affected. 2009 is older than 2010.

Clearly the title change hasn't stopped these posts from continuing either.

With the high cost of this problem, I can see why people are hoping that they might not be in the range. So what if they want to check? Why so rude about it? All people are doing is hoping.

Obviously happy with that, but clearly glad I checked rather than assume from the thread title and great work from Valvestud, surely we should club together and get him a little AMG gift for his efforts over such a long period?

The title refers to US model years. I thought the title change would be helpful, but if it doesn't apply to UK cars it can be removed.

What is the model year of your car? There was a similar discussion on the very first page from another member with a UK car. Just because a car was built in 2010 does not make it a MY 2010. In the US a '2011' car could easily have a build date of 09/2010. If you have red calipers with your PP it's the equivalent of a US 2011.

Note that the switchover occurred sometime around a build date of 6/2010 so your build date of 12/10 is well past that regardless of the model year. This is also mentioned on the first page that no one reads.

Hey man-
If you don't mind, I will be starting my quest for a C63 sometime in the next few months. I'm looking at 2012+ because I like the facelifted look more than the previous look, but I may consider a late build 2011.

I wanted to ask you for some VIN runs to check if the 2011s I'm interested in are affected or not.

Also, can you run the data cards on vehicles as well? Options that come with the car and showing any warranty or repair work done with the dealers?

Thank you, I would really appreciate this and do not mind compensating for your time with helping me.
