Thank you very much!

Thank you very much!
As many of you know, I have been providing Datacard info to many members interested in their build sheet, or to verify engine serial number.
I received a PM from a member today who indicates he has a "late 2010 C63". The Datacard for the VIN he provided shows a delivery date of 11/24/2010. The Datacard indicates the engine number is over 4,000 engines beyond serial number 156983 60 060658 where the new head bolts were employed.
Since we've believed that all 2010 and older, and some 2011s were in the affected range, I'm confused about how this one could be outside the range. I did a search to find out which digit in the VIN corresponds to the model year, but had no luck getting a clear answer.
Anyone have any thoughts on all of this?
Thanks,
Joe

New to the form so apologies if I'm a little confused here.
Im looking at purchasing a 2011 C63 probably in the next couple days but this whole headbolt is issue is making me worry.
Could you possibly check the vin for me as well?
VIN: WDDGF7HB6BF652641
Thank you in advance for going out of your way to help.

All I can think of as to how this happened is either A) Mercedes is wrong... which I don't think is likely or B) someone has had this engine apart and put it back with new old stock headbolts. I didn't see anything in the MB service history that would warrant such a teardown. Could have been an independent shop but who knows.
I'll be pulling the splash covers off probably tomorrow as I get further along in the header install. I'll look for some witness marks that may signify the engine was dropped out. I don't see anything from above yet. But I wouldn't get the pitchforks and torches out just yet. Nobody is perfect in pulling/replacing an engine, there will be something someplace.
Did they update the valve buckets at the same serial number cutoff? I have minor wear on my cam lobes. May be another clue to this puzzle.

I had another thought.. is it possible MB identified one or more bad lots of the old design, but decided to redesign as well? This might explain why some old style bolts (not "defective") are in engines past the switch over.
