Wow, what's this mad rush in recent days on datacard? Is it because Valvestud is heading to Germany?

Thanks for the information Joe. I read the first 10 pages of this thread....but still haven't found what to do about this. I see there is/was a TSB and not a recall. What are most owners doing about this? Waiting until a bolt fails and then choke down $6k for head gaskets and headbolts or are owners pro-actively replacing the head bolts?

Hi Guys,
I'm new in US moved from Sweden and have just bought a 2010 C63. I have looked at MB world in Sweden and Germany, and this head bolt problem seems to be a US issue? I also talked to some AMG mechanics back home and they didn't know about this issue. I there any number of failing head bolt on the M156 engine? Is it production related or just bad luck for some buyers.
Thanks

It seems like all engines up 2011 and some of the 2011 are affected. I'm more interested in knowing have many failures there are on the engines that are related to the head bolts. What I don't get is why this issue haven't popped up in Europe?

You would only know if someone you know or someone on a forum posts it. There are thousands of affected engines in cars with owners that are not on forums so are not public with their failure.
