My New 507 c63
When I heard about the next c63 wouldn't have a 6.2 in it anymore I had to get one (I know a little late on the news ). So between that and kicking myself for selling my 09 c63 years ago... I knew I had to get one. So I figured I would ask my dealer for an ordering guide. My dealer sent me the ordering guide and some pictures of what he had on the lot (I only deal with one person who is the inventory manager). He just so happened to have a black c63 with the 507 Edition Package (looking back on it, I'm surprised it was just sitting there). After some quick searching on this forum, I knew I couldn't order one and I had to have it.
Somehow he got me out of the lease 11 months early (ML 450 Hybrid) and we agreed on a 79K price (sticker 84,710). So on my way to my parents for the holidays (it was on the way) I dropped of the ML and on the way back I bought the c63. And in between that I got an e-mail that the dealer was offering 3 years maintenance for free and a free IPad mini.
The only problem I had was I didn't want to drive the car from Alexandria VA to Boston MA during the winter. And again thanks to this board I found a solution... Intercity Lines. It might not have been the cheapest ($750), but everything I read was good. And I just got the car delivered today, I was really excited, but of course we just got a foot of snow. So into the garage it went. I can't wait to drive it when it clears up a bit.
And know the particulars:
Obsidian Black (only black I would buy)
AMG Performance Media (Had never heard of that before, I've only briefly looked at it and I'm not sure its worth $2500)
KeyLess Go
507 Package
Black Nappa Leather
Lighting Package
Multimedia Package
Lane Tracking Package (wish it had distronic, but I'll survive and replace the star with the one that lights up)
So far I've only tinted the windows, but I do know that Eurocharged offers a tune... so tempted to bump up the HP to 525. Anyone know what that does to the torque?
And know onto the pics.

It was around 10 degrees during delivery otherwise I would have taken more pictures. And I'm getting the 5 year tire/rim/cosmetic damage protection and 6/100 warranty from Mark @ Mb of Georgetown in TX for ~$4300. More savings for sure, the dealer wanted almost 3500 for just the tire/rim protection.

beautiful car
enjoy
I wouldn't mess with a tune for a few HP and it won't do much for torque since the engine is pretty much tuned to max in the 507 version
(as opposed to being detuned in the base C63)
the only way to really bump torque is displacement, compression ratio or boost (or really run up the rpm's)

Welcome back and great purchase story on the 507 and a sedan to boot! Might make a few people shed a tear.
Put some winter tires on it if you plan to drive it before it warms up in the spring.
Enjoy!

As much as it pains me it will most likely spend most of the winter in the garage. In a perfect world I would have bought the car after winter, but I was positive this one would not be around by then. Can I put wider tires on the stock rims? No I haven't searched yet and I will.. just thought about since you brought up winter tires.

You might also want to change out the orange market lights with smoked ones from ebay or get some and paint them body color.

Good call on not driving it. I drove my car today in slippery (icy) conditions and it was pretty loose. We have other (AWD) cars, but I wanted to test it since they don't salt the roads here, and it was even worse than I imagined. A drive up the East Coast this week would have been pretty ill-advised...or memorable depending on your POV. Anyway, congrats and welcome.

The Ipad is what sold me on it. Funny thing is returned it to an Apple store for an Apple TV and store credit. Turns out the dealer bought 14K worth of Ipads for the special they were running. But I guess they can afford it

Thanks for the information about the wheels, and I was thinking about doing something with the corner markers.. they stick out like sore thumbs on this car.

I'm going to try to resist... at least until the wife forgets how much the payment is
The only thing I want to do is the Opti Coat stuff. Looks like it will really help out on a black car (swirl marks, etc). I know a lot has to do with who does the work, but is it worth the money? And what are you guys paying for it? I found a place in my town that does it, but I would like some of your opinions.

so if power goes up for a given RPM so will torque
so if power goes from 451 to 507 at 6800 rpm torque will go up the same 12%
451 HP at 6800 RPM = 348 lb ft
507 HP at 6800 RPM = 390 lb ft
so at 6800 you picked up 40 lb ft! or 12% more driving thrust for a given gear
it's the area under the torque curve (vs rpm, time or road speed) that determines acceleration, your whole curve is elevated > base C63
torque is the force that propels the car
power is basically its rate of application (P = T x w, w = 2 Pi rev/sec)

I definitely would not tune a car you paid for an extended warranty on as the tune will likely void at least your drivetrain warranty. I can't examine a tuned 507 c63 has much left in it to gain anyway - you're already 50hp over stock.
Sweet ride!

Thanks for the math lesson. Normally I hate math, but this was a good lesson.

I'm not normally a fan of black, but when I saw the Obsidian Black I liked it. I'm actually looking at getting Opti Coat because my number one concern is the swirl marks. I've got a local guy that will do it for 495. As for the dealer I got it from MB of Alexandria. It just happened to be on their lot. Turns out they got it from Hagerstown, MD because they had a buyer who wanted a c63 coupe that Alexandria had. I was just really lucky

I will make use of the heated seats for sure.
And thanks for the rest of the compliments. My friend had the car while I was waiting to get it and he said the car just attracted a lot of attention.
